Does Joes relentless pressure eventually get to Joe, or does Joes power and combination punching get Joe out of there?

Probably the latter, but conceivably the former.

    Either way, Joe wins!

I'd favor joe Louis to break down Frazier and stop him mid rounds.. But it's no forgone conclusion.. Smoke had fast hands, awesome upper body movement and a great left hook which was one of Louis's weaknesses.. It would be an entertaining fight either way.

I'd hate to see either one lose, but I believe Joe Louis' firepower and fast, pinpoint-accurate punching would catch Joe Frazier early. I envision multiple knockdowns ala Frazier-Foreman I with the bout being stopped on a TKO.

Hard to call, Louis had a hard time against short, crouching guys like Galento, Godoy, Marciano. None of them had Joe's head movement or hand speed.

I think Frazier would be to rough and crowd Louis took much for him to get his combinations off consistently. Frazier would come out faster than he usually does in order to combat the Louis offense. Louis was very hittable with big punches though, I think Frazier's left hook finds home again and again to Louis' head and body.

    Frazier TKO 10.

I wouldn't count Louis out, but I'd favor Frazier. 70-71 Frazier is underrated. He was a beast, and Louis simply doesn't have the physical strength to force him back like Foreman did.

I think Smokin Joe could survive some very scary early moments, and wear Louis down for a late KO.

BUT, I wouldn't really bet on it. There's a real possibility of Louis stopping mid rounds. I just feel that Frazier late stoppage is more likely.

Good post. Louis never liked being pressured. I think that was the key to fighting him.

Frazier COULD give Louis a lot of trouble but, because of his style of fighting, he would make this easier than it should be. He would certainly give Louis his share of trouble as Louis has often had trouble with pressure fighters. And NOBODY puts on more presure than Joe Frazier. He's a master at taking away the long range weapons of his opponent.

The problem that Frazier faces is that Louis is a master at inside fighting. Frazier can be hurt early and it often takes him a few rounds to get going. Louis is a hard puncher but that's because he's the most CORRECT puncher in division history. This means that he makes the best use of the Power he has. Some others HAVE more Power but NO ONE makes better USE of their Power than Joe Louis.

A Louis copy, who lacks Joe's punching ABILITY would be in for a LONG night with Joe Frazier. However, Louis would be able to score often enough to get past the "Mid-round Rush" that Frazier is famous for. Frazier would lose the first three rounds, win the next two and fight evenly with Louis until about round 9, where Louis would discover a pattern in Frazier's style.

At this point, once Frazier is exposed, he has a difficult time digging out of the hole he's in. Louis lands a solid right inside and Frazier stumbles. Another perfect right puts him down on one knee. Frazier rises and Louis drives him to the canvas again. He rises but he's not in good shape.

In the next round, Frazier isn't fully recovered and Louis nails him again with the same right. Frazier's up but a left-right-left-left-right puts him down again. He's up again but the referee has seen enough.

    Louis by KO in 10

I`d pick Joe Frazier by knockout. Louis was the greater fighter but I believe the style works in Smokin Joe`s favor this time. Frazier bobbed and weaved and came in fast I think he could put Louis back on his heels much of the time. Force a very quick pace and take away the Brown Bomber`s leverage.
His body attack and the ability to work over/under and vice versa could keep Louis defensive more than he usually was. Never count out Joe Louis because he had that power but I think Frazier would grind him down. at least in the first fight. Louis was a demon in rematches.

I would actually give Joe Frazier a better chance against Louis, than I would give George Foreman to be honest.

There's only so many pin point accurate combinations Frazier can walk into....

I like Louis. Frazier could not take his power shots, and Louis, when he was floored, was often by right hands. Frazier was pretty much a left hooker and body puncher type.

I do think Frazier has a chance, as his speed, pressure and crowding style gave Louis fits.

Louis said he could never beat Marciano because he did not like to be crowded. Indeed, Goody's style gave Louis big time problems in their first match. But Joe wasn't that strong physically as Rocky was.

Best guess, Louis via TKO in 6.
