Exactly. Say what you want about Canelo. But give him credit for being willing to step up and fight world class fighters like Floyd, Cotto, Lara and even though Mosley was past his prime he was still a good fighter and Canelo fought him as well.

Triple G had a chance to earn respect from the people by fighting Ward and he passed on it. He'll have to live with that.

Canelo doesn't knocked people out in 3 rounds or reconstrure faces/end careers like GGG does. No one is scared to get in the ring with Canelo. The fact Mayweather did says enough.

Canelo has fought world class fighters, but to say GGG passed on his chance is baloney. Ward never wanted the fight, and the only time he did was when Golovkin was finishing up negotiations with Lemieux. Though, even then he probably didn't want it because the offer he gave was the most laughable thing I've ever heard.

 

lol @ abuffy's continual delusions...when you fight cans it's a lot easier to hurt them..when you step up to true world level like Canelo the knockouts don't come as easy.....

Well Triple G only fight bums so nothing he does is surprising. Which is kind of the point.

Bottom line only after Triple G get in the ring with the likes of Ward and Canelo will we be able to truly judge him.

As of now he is just a good fighter who beat the living **** out of cans. But greatness is something that will always elude him as long as he continue to fight the type of guys he has fought his whole career.

 

Put another way....Triple G has FAR more to prove than Canelo does.

 

GGG's most recent opponent- a so called bum- would give Canelo all he could handle and most likely knock him out too.

 

And duh. That's why we are waiting these next to weeks to see if Canelo has the guts to fight him.

Well considering that Canelo has been willing to fight fighters superior and more accomplished than GGG I highly doubt he is scared to fight him.

On the other hand when Triple G had a chance to fight Ward he made all type of excuses because he knew there was ZERO chance he could beat Ward.
