Canelo gets a lot of priviliges when it comes to scoring

And how do we score then. One Canelo punch is worth 2 of Cotto, more ?
    This is stupid

Canelo's "privileges", real or imagined, had nothing to do with his victory over Cotto. He clearly beat him without any judge's assistance.

Stop watching professional boxing and concern yourself with the amatuers. There if fighter A lands 10 right hand power shots that visibly shake fighter B.........fighter B can still win the round by landing 11 tap jabs that wouldn't make fighter A as much as flinch.

Amatuer boxing is the sport for you my friend.

Though the amatuers these days use a punchstat machine to count punches. Canelo would have beaten Cotto even if they had fought by amateur rules. :deal:lol:

He should've lost to Lara, and he loss to Mayweather should've been nearer a shutout than CJ Ross' draw.

The Lara match is one of the few times we disagree, Lara was just flat out running for the last half of the match. And shouldn't have been rewarded for it. And Canelo either outlanded Lara or came close to equaling Lara's landed shots in many rounds, sometimes when rounds are close personally I think you should side with the aggressor.

Yeah but Canelo did nothing but aggress, clumsily and for the most part ineffectively. Most - including you I believe? - cite his "body shots" while chasing Lara as what tipped a lot of rounds his way but most of his body shots were grazing at best.

    Yes! :|

Horribly judged contest. Not the worst Lara has ever been involved with (that's Williams vs. Lara) and maybe not even 2nd worst (Lara got a gift draw over Molina, lest anyone think I'm blindly pro-Lara) - but up there. :yep

He was given 6 rounds against Mayweather. He also received very favorable scoring against Trout, and Lara. It's almost as if Canelo is a German based guy fighting in Germany. Each punch he lands counts for three instead of one in the judges minds.

I thought the decision was fair, but 11-1 is way too wide.

    I felt Canelo won 8-4.

Giving Canelo six rounds against Mayweather is just laughable.

Poor Carlos got shafted time and time again, and that one in particularly was a real bummer.

A fighter runs and does zilch offensively, the opponent chases and lands some body shots.
Sorry, but defense through running doesn't give you the points in this scenario to win you the round.
The body work is more then enough to bank the round in this instance.

Lara wasn't just running and doing zilch offensively. His pot shot jabs and lefts were landing more cleanly than Canelo's lunging body shots.
