Faster boxers than GGG couldn't land consistently on Canelo, what makes you think GGG can?

Also GGG really is only better at foot work and power, speed, defense, and overall offense is Canelo.

By KNOCKOUT! Golovkin is the highest untested champion.

You're right Canelo is no Stevens as far as power is concerned.:deal

Reeling? Really? GGG paused for a second and went right back to work.

And as far as getting hit goes, he didn't get hit nearly as much as Canelo was eating jabs to the face from Lara for the first 5 or 6 rounds of their match. Stevens landed maybe 3 or 4 clean shots in 8 rounds, and that's about it.

Stevens didn't hit him that much, he hit him from time to time with a shot but all in all defensive responsibility from Golovkin was very contrasting and just the way he fought, he pretty much boxed Stevens and Lemieux and against the other guys he mostly plowed through them not caring what they have for him in return.

But I don't wanna say it's ALL down to GGG not respecting their power (I think stylistically there's something at play as well).

Oh and as for the fight, I think Canelo's headmovement will be hard for Golovkin and it'd be a hard fight for both men for the first half of the fight but I think Golovkin's all around game would catch up with Canelo and Golovkin would take over possibly stopping him in the later rounds.

You answered your own question. Have you ever notice fighters have a hard time getting away from GGG? See the early rounds against Monroe and Stevens and Macklin and Geale.:deal GGG is brilliant at cutting off the ring, and that will get him into position perfectly to land all the shots he wants, and Canelo will gas from the hooks to the body and he'll become a sitting duck.

He is, he's no JCC, or Antonio Margarioto. He fights in bursts landing the harder shots but he's not very active. He doesn't go for the KO if he doesn't have to, and is just fine landing the harder shots and countering when he can.

Personally i think stevens power is overrated. He telegraphs his punches so higher caliber fighters seem to take them better because they see it coming. Canelos power comes from his speed and timing, he had Cotto rocked a few times with some **** Cotto didnt expect.. Canelo will hurt GGG just as much as GGG will hurt Canelo. Bank on it! And i'll go further.... Canelo will beat GGG!!:deal:smoke

GGG will have to be weary going in on Canelo like a mad man, Canelos offensive firepower is no joke and i'm positive GGG will agree. Nobody walks down Canelo and gets away with it, but we do know GGG can be hit rather easily. Biggest fight next year hands down, if they can make it happen... Floyd/Pac II or even Ward/Kovalev take the back seat to Canelo-Golovkin.:deal

Look at who you just named though outside of Geale none if them guys has ever beaten a world class fighter ever. GGG is a seek and destroy boxer Canelo more of a counter puncher stylewise is the type of guy Canelo would look good vs.

I look at it like this Trout was supposed to be faster, with better foot work, and a better boxer got held to 20% and lost same with Lara and Cotto.

GGG is slower of foot and hand than all three and hasn't faced nearly the competition so to flat out say he's a better "boxer" than any of the three is just an assumption.

Canelo is all around better and more tested than anybody you can name on GGG's resume, just because you look good vs journeyman doesn't mean it will translate.

There is no replica for elite competition.

No one cares for Floyd/Pac2 and it won't happen. Ward/Kovalev is a true 50/50 super fight between the best 168 pound fighter and the best 175 pound fighter.
