Joyce wins sd. Seemed to control the end of the second and the last round from what I saw Same chanting there's only one Johnny Joyce lmfao . It's pretty comical
The English fella looked huge compared to Joyce. Only caught the last round and I taught Joyce took it easy
Ok Fra - maybe you have some back door way of getting a ticket, I hope so anyway. There has to be some rules and regulations governing ticket sales to an event like this to protect the public. Consumer protection legislation etc. Ticket prices were fixed well in advance - announced by the promoter in fact, & now these same tickets are available through 'middlemen' at grossly inflated prices. This cant be right.
Watched a large amount of today's quarters back hand happy seems to be the way nearly all the fighters are out there, Front hand to feint then bug backhand maybe followed by a front hook at times, Watched approx 12 fights today and can't remember thinking that lad has a good jab, Scoring systems dictate boxing styles this seems to be the new way,I'm not really a fan,it is exciting but wild at times,
I'm sure more of ye feel the same, I just dashed this off to This content is protected ; "Dear sir, I am once again flabbergasted at your lack of coverage of Irish amateur boxing. I dont know is it bias or ignorance but it is not acceptable from a national broadcaster. You could find hours of coverage time for the so-called Billy Walsh affair because you sensed a big negative that ultimately didnt exist but when five youth boxers guaranteed the country at least five bronze medals from ten weight catagories at the European championships, it didnt merit even a second of acknowledgement on the six oclock news. Thirty eight countries are participating at these games, the final step before senior boxing, indeed several boxers from these games will make the Olympics in Rio. This is a major sport with every country in the world partaking, not a post colonial game like hockey or rugby union. Only soccer and athletics rival it for international participation. We get blanket coverage of the rugby world cup, held for Britain and Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, France and Argentina. We are saturated with soccer coverage and superlatives because we squeezed into the European finals of consisting of twenty four countries-yet our senior boxers came fourth in the recent World championships. The old chestnut that its not popular with the public doesnt wash, put it on with a bit of style and the country will be talking about the boxers. Its your duty as a public broadcaster and the Irish public have a right to know and be justly proud of our boxers. You have fifteen news stories up on your main sports page, most of them speculation, the only news item is that an average MMA fighter is retiring. Its nothing short of bizarre. By the way Im no boxing cheer-leader, I manage a junior team, have national medals for athletics-my first love- and have trained GAA teams in the past, just looking for a bit of fairplay, Regards Matt Donnellon"
