The US has 5 times the population of the UK and only 4 times times the number of fighters in the top 25. I think I know who's winning :arran

Plus, Carl Froch and Kell Brook are far too low in the boxrecs pound for pound list at 7 and 14 respectively. :yep



But in all honesty I think Boxrec's pound for pound gives too much kudos the bigger fighters.

Case in point, there are 14 heavyweights in the pound for pound 100 (and I don't think it's a stretch to argue only 1 belongs)......

and Roman Gonzalez isn't even in it!! atsch

UK are now ring kings in twice as many division as the USA

Only 5 of the top 20 (compared to the UK's 4)

None of the top 5.

The UK have a higher ranked boxer than any American.

USA have 9 world title holders compared to the UK's 10. And looking at the USA's title holders Mayweather has retired and titlist don't get much more paper than the likes of Broner, Wilder and Jacobs

The UK are 6(5)-0 in title fights with Americans interim and above this year.

There is a new sheriff in town in boxing and it goes by the name of The United Kingdom.

Well decade after decade UK fighters were getting there a$$es pounded by American fighters. Goes to show, even the sun shines on a dogs a$$ some of the time.

The birth of the internet era and the number of titles available has created more exposure and more opportunities and the sport has now become much more global.

That couple with stricter drug testing policies is seeing America becoming also rans in the sport who are flagging behind the UK (who have a 5th of the population, a 500th of the PED cheats and a 10th of the opportunity) :thumbsup

Well lets see, say in the last 100 years of boxing the country with the most champions what is it then, 99 years USA to 1 year UK? Ok, I admit you got us. Look at you roar...LMAO...

 

That's when the Sport wasn't that global and when PED testing was pretty much none exsistant. Now it's more global and most of your top boxers have either been exposed as PED cheats (jones, Mosley, Toney, Holyfield, Tarver) and HUGE question marks raised against them (Mayweather) or refuse extra testing (Hopkins, Ward) the balance of power has changed :hi:
