    Most of this generation of contenders weren't even pros when his reign started.

    Defeated three very solid fighters in a row in Povetkin, Pulev and Jennings, all who would be competitive hw's in any era.

    pulev and Jennings? the guy who struggled vs 40something to get his title shot, and a late starting fringe contender in a weak era. povetkin is the only contender there.

    They all had their 0's intact before meeting Klitschko and were top 10 ranked across all organisations. You put them in vs Holmes or later Ali and they'd be very competitive.

    You have to give Wlad credit for his discipline and consistency. We have never seen him anything other than 100% prepared and this in part why he has been able to dominate for so long and until such a late stage in his career.

    His consistency combined with a safety first style has also benefited him in terms of longevity, he hasn't had many punishing fights and none for a very long time and that has left him relatively fresh for a 39 year old.

    Then of course there's the opposition he's facing. Just like with Holmes and Louis who also had very long reigns, Wlad's level of opposition wasn't as tough as some fighters have faced in the past. But it's easy to lose even to weak opponents if you don't show up 100% focused and fully prepared and that's where Wlad has really impressed me as a champion.
