This is my dream match at heavyweight right now. If Haye goes down the WBC route I would cream myself it his match was made. Such a great match of styles, two of the most athletic heavyweights around. Man can dream...

Haye probably (hopefully) will go down the WBC route.

I don't think he'd fancy either Fury or Wlad and he's probably confident, due to their sparring sessions, that he could handle Wilder.

I just can't take Haye's comeback attempt seriously. He must really need the money, but at 35 I doubt he is willing to put in the hard work to get back to the level required to fight the likes of Povetkin

I'm not taking Haye seriously until I see him actually back in the ring and I certainly Won't be spending any money on tickets/travel etc. If the rumours are true about BN then unsurprisingly sky are not prepared to deal with him either at this point until he proves he's not going to waste any bodies time/money.

I think Povetkin would give him a beating at this moment.

    :good

David was "advised" to retire after he got "gassed" (ko'd and given oxygen) during a sparring session prior to his fight with Fury (after which came the shoulder surgery and retirement).

I'm not sure why (other than wanting to see his name in print/on tv) he would be considering a comeback. He is extremely wealthy, would get destroyed by Povetkin (who would have been a horrendous match-up even for "Prime Haye") and the winner of Wlad/Fury would beat him comfortably too.

Wilder is the weak link, but it is doubtful that Team Wilder would make that fight on a voluntary basis and David would probably get derailed before he secured the number one ranking (the days of him talking his way to a world title shot are gone).

Is that common knowledge about him getting sparked out in sparring and getting oxygen? If so don't know how I missed that one!

Povetkin has been fighting (and knocking out) top quality opposition during the time Haye has been sat on his hands doing nothing. At this point, you'd have to favour Povetkin to beat, and probably stop, Haye.

I don't understand why people underrate Povetkin so much, he's the second best by a long way.

Povetkin would destroy haye. no way haye takes that fight he will fight nobodies until he gets one last payday with Fury, Wald, AJ or Wilder all of whom would beat him comfortably imo.

Haye won't fight povetkin. He'll beat de Mori and then instantly start shouting that he wants a world title shot, he'll then beat a couple of past prime low risk fighters like Kevin Johnson and either get given a world title shot or retire again.

Povetkin would beat haye at this point IMO.

Haye is a cherrypicker, no way he faces the dangerous Povetkin.

Unless the financial offer exceeds the second best option by far, if that's the case then it's possible.
