Kovalev is in fact a tougher opponent. With Golovkin, Ward can rely on both headbutting and hugging. Kovalev is stronger, so hugging may not work leaving just headbutting to Ward to rely on.

  2. He spent years aggravated that he couldn't win the litigation battles like he did in the ring :D

They don't allow to headbutt in court.

Well yes, Kovalev is bigger than him whereas Golovkin is smaller than him and although I think GGG is more skilled in general, there's not that much between them, so it's not exactly rocket science to see that Kovalev would be a far harder fight.

It's a shame most of them were only using Ward out of convenience because he was the obvious choice to take GGG down. For awhile on here, that boogeyman was Quillin.

Even now, they have to define his recent career in terms of a perceived duck from GGG or wins that happened during the last Olympic cycle. There's shockingly little conversation on his career on its own merits.

Bring up a Ward injury? It goes back to GGG. Wonder why Ward hasn't fought a rated contender in years? The reason is, of course, GGG. Wanna know who robbed him at the Olive Garden? Probably one of GGG's personal judges. We just don't know he has them because the fights don't get that far.

We still have to go with the facts. Kov has been tested and GG hasn't. This is neither positive or negative.

I would rather fight GGG than Kovalev. Kovalev is more scary, definitely.

Well Kovalev is significantly bigger and stronger than GGG if not as skilled (imho) so Ward may be right. Kovalev stretches Ward out stiff before 8 rounds are done.

I must have not been around when Qullin was the boogeyman missed it. That's funny. I just don't understand the necessity to do a round table interview of Andre Ward at the Cotto vs Canelo fight? For what? Does he have a fight lined up? And the stuff he talked about had no relevance to his future. He spent most the time talking about the past. He seems like a man who dwells on the past a lot. That's not a good sign.

Which is exactly why Ward spent a year going after Golovkin instead of moving up to fight Kovalev in the first place.

Why did it take Golovkin shooting his nonsense offer down and HBO pressuring him to make that fight to get him to sign for it...a year from now? If he really wanted Kovalev, he could've fought him already.

He says he's only after the toughest fights, after all. So why waste a year targeting the easy fighter that his fans won't even admit is the bigger name? Two years by the time the fight actually happens...if it happens.

how come kovalev is able to get hopkins...pascal, again, after beating his head in....and probably ward? but poor ggg cant get anything?

k2 wants no parts of ggg in the ring with ward...its painfully obvious
