Fury seems to be in his best shape. He's not 6'9", ( More like 6'7 1/2 " ) and comes into the fight in his prime with an undefeated record. I think Fury is a worthy title opponent, and among the best five heavyweights in the world. Wlad looks to be a well preserved 39-year-old, perhaps not quite as fast as he was years ago. His power, ring smarts, and technique remain excellent. Prediction: Fury's a jive turkey past Thanksgiving. Wlad will carve him up and knock him out inside 6 rounds. The rounds one and two will be interesting, but after that Wlad's class will show. Fury's defense is not good enough to avoid the incoming, and his chin is average. Wlad will deliver a bomb sooner or later. This one could end early, but I'm thinking Wlad will be a little cautious early, and take Fury out in round five.
Hopefully you're right! I've got Wlad to win in a group round bet (4-6, if you was wondering). Tyson won't be able to handle Wlad's power, and Wlad bringing in his brother for sparring = Tyson is getting laid out. Well put, BTW. :good
Furys going to stop Wlad or knock him out. People talk about Furys chin as if Wlads chin is granite. Fury isn't the one whose been stopped 3 times. And when Fury goes down, he normally gets up...and wins.
??? Wlad has not been down in nearly 10 years of fighting world title opponents, some of whom were better than Fury and hit harder. Fury has been down vs lesser competition. I think Wlad's chin is a bit better than Fury's, but that won't matter much as Wlad's defense combined with his skills and power on offense will test Fury's mettle more often, and I say earlier
This is a high risk pick. If the majority are right, you will look very silly. Obviously if you are right, then you are the guy who called it correctly!
I called Rahman over Lewis 1, in round 5 to be exact with the right hand. That was one of my best. I'd say Fury has a chance, but not a very good one.
Fury looks like absolute **** in the fights Ive seen .. he is a very charismatic, well spoken guy which makes the fight interesting .. I don't see it going too long ..
Wlad is going to win. When and how Is open to speculation because I don't know the strategy that Fury will implement. Fury has the ability to present a diverse gameplan. He has shown the skill to fight at range using movement and the fortitude to mix up and brawl in close. I believe if he decides to brawl it will be by far his best chance to win. Although with that option, he risks an early stoppage loss. Wlad was stunned early against Pulev who is about the same level puncher as Fury. Wlad also is beginning to show his age as he did in Jennings fight. If Fury attempts to box at range I believe he will see Wlad's punches better and may prevent himself from being ko'd early as he will be able to brace himself. Both the knockdowns he has suffered one against Pajkic and one against Cunningham were from shots he didn't see. I expect him to be more alert against Wlad. However, his boxing ability is far behind Wlad's and Wlad's jab will occupy him to slowly get grinded down until he is in range for the straight right. Fury is too big for an elite heavy like Wlad to miss all night. So if he brawls Wlad KO3 if he boxes Wlad KO 8
I did a thread after Pulev saying that because of the styles and size I thought this would be Wlad's last real hurrah-a satisfying performance against a quality opponent who would make Wlad look like a young killer. Then I thought he looked old and underwhelming against By-By, and as soon as I realize Fury was finally going to happen, I thought maybe THIS would be Wlad's last chance to be a beast. Basically, I think he's on his last legs but there are still guys he matches up with in a way where I think he could fool people about how much he really has left and Fury's one of them.
This really is hard to see how Wlad can lose the fight. I suppose fury fans can point to an aging champion, a rare reach advantage and the fact that Wlad has not fought many southpaws. Just watching Fury Chisora, and i have to say that reach aside, Fury has one of the worst techniques i have ever seen with a jab. In fact, it looks more like a backhand slap than a jab. There is no attempt to put any body behind his jab, whatsoever. It is actually amazing that Willard -Carnera- Beaer etc cop such a bad wrap when a fighter like fury is able to become one of the leading challengers in the modern fight game. Furys footwork is so flatfooted and square, he is really going to have trouble with Wlad, who to me at least seems so much stronger, faster and technically sound. Then you have the defence. The way he holds his guard leaves him so open to Wlad's straight 1-2. I expect Wlad to land this shot often and clean. It should finish the fight relatively easy. And the way he drops the right hand when throwing the backhand flick jab really does seem to leave him so open to Wlad's long left hook, albeit his southpaw stance may naturally reduce the effects. The only glimmer of hope is that Tyson does seem quite reasonable when he lands with left. NOt brutally powerful like a Tyson or a Wlad, but he does seem able to land some reasonable combinations leading with the right. Unfortunately, one would think he wouldnt get the openings to land it. I guess, you could say that Wlad has proved vulnerable to the clean shot, maybe tyson can send him stubbling with a lead left combination. I can only realistically see age as Tyson's best hope. In fact, in all honesty, i havent really been this confident of a Klitchsko win since he fought Sanders and Brewster (the first time). So take it for what its worth. I say Klitchsko KO8 in a fight he can win anythime he wants to take a chance and let his hands go.
Everyone gets old and at Waldos age it happens overnight. If he keeps at it, it will happen soon enough.
