Conditioning and body aren't really related. Fury can have trained brilliantly and eaten badly and be "uncut" but with the best engine of his career. Harry Greb, the busiest fighter in history, not cut: http://www.boxing.com/images/sized/images/articles/harry_greb_3_crop-530x317.jpg David Tua, shared record holder for punches in a heavyweight fight, not cut: http://resources3.news.com.au/image...0983-a4a60d5c-a435-11e3-94c1-d923b8b77352.jpg Neither Willard nor Johnson was "cut" in Havana but they did more rounds in worse conditions than either of these guys have ever seen: http://www.thefightcity.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Johnson-Willard-Cuba.jpg I'm not saying Fury is in shape like these guys were, or even in shape at all, but what i'm saying is, looking at a fighter's body to gauge what he'll be able to do in the fight is wrong. His engine will probably be ****ed after six in this coming fight but you surely don't believe this is because of the pace Wladimir sets? Because that's a snail's pace. Slow. Fury has fought faster. He'll probably be stopped by that stage though.
Its not the Mr Universe competition. He isnt cut but so what? Its the heavyweight division, Fury has always had a fair engine and though theres a roll or 2 round the belt line this is the best shape ive ever seen him in.
Well when you see Tyson drinking pints in pubs, eating spaghetti few days before his weigh in and in training I've seen him do like 15kg skull crushers. What are you expecting him to look like? Now if you look at Wlad training, his diet that his chef prepares, he's a strict professional focused athlete, Tyson simply isn't and it shows.
Corrie Sanders was 35 years old and fought once a year and was arguably in just as good a shape. He also didn't get 5 months to prepare.
Look at how ripped Frank Bruno was, his endurance was terrible. Where as you get fighters like Joe Frazier, Marciano, Juan Diaz and Joe Calzaghe who have immense cardiovascular endurance but have very average bodies.
So you are saying that Tysons physique is inline with JC's Rockys , Fraziers and JMM's?? I would hardly say Frazier had a very average body and JMM is in great shape. JC is slim and doesn't carry an once over 168. Then Rocky was very solid looking. Tyson simple looks like he eats pot noodles all day long and probably does.
I said Juan Diaz not Juan Manuel Marquez mate... Juan Diaz has a rather chubby looking body to be honest. Im a huge fan of Frazier but he didnt have a ripped body like you say every fighter should have. He was stocky and strong but you could see fat on his body. Calzaghe didnt have a ripped body, and niether did Marciano. You said every fighter should be ripped and if they arent they are lazy in dieting or training
It's a similar body type to many of the old school fighters who had to do 15 rounds or more. Functionality > looks, and Fury's conditioning is exceptional. That's the part that matters.
