I think Fury will try and get to Vlad early to test the waters but then try and box and throw sporadic power flurries and set a fast pace, Vlad's deterrent to this will be power punches and in and out movement. Who's Jab is more accurate my be an issue or it may not come down to that.Vlad also may be looking to land early so lets see whose punch/chin holds up and then whose strategy works better. I don't see anyone picking here?
yea Fury showed a good inside/roughhouse game against Cunningham but I wonder how that plays out with Vlad
I like that Fury has done 12 rounds, is younger, just as big and has a better work rate than Wlad. For all his better experience it's still crucial wlad controls the pace and distance and it will be harder to do if Fury puts the heat on him for the full three minutes of each round...and it is extremely promising that Fury has come in quite light. I still can't imagine Tyson Fury as the premier champion but I think he has an excellent chance given the circumstances. Wlad rightly deserves to be favorite but I have taken a modest bet on Tyson causing an upset because I feel if he can get Wlad tired he has a better chance than 90% of Wlads challengers have had going into their fight with him.
Wlad is going to drill Fury. If Fury hit a little harder or took a better punch, his chances would be a little better.
I'm not going to go so far as pick Fury, but Wlad is ripe for the picking. His legs are going, his timing is failing, the edges are starting to fray. In Fury, I am not sure what we have. He is big, cheeky and probably willing to go for broke. He may be chinny or he may not. He has a bit more finesse than given credit for and has sufficient power. We will learn a whole lot more tonight.
He was just in with a better fighter. I did say earlier, the younger KO artist version of Wlad would have had a better chance.
horrible this fight hurts Vlad's legacy, he has nothing left, hurt Fury in the last round but couldn't pull the guns Its time to bow out for Vlad
We have a new lineal heavyweight champion! It is not lost on me that I was often one of his critics. Wladamir Klitschko can walk away with his head held high, as one of the great lineal heavyweight champions, alongside Sullivan, Jeffries, Johnson, Louis, Marciano, Ali et al.
lol. You name 6 people and throw in the et al? Don't forget Jack Dempsey, Joe Frazier, Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis and George Foreman.
