    Rivas is faking the jab toward Abell's gut and shooting the right hand from his brow in an upward arc toward Abell's hairline. Abell is firing the long southpaw jab from outside down at the shorter man, keeping his distance, his punches never quite reaching though he does bounce a few off Rivas' gloves. Short counter left by Abell when Rivas tries an overhand right, blocked.

    Fury is far less of a spanner than Mayweather was, but he is a character and boxing needs characters.

    How many casuals would boxing drawn in with Al Haymon's slapdash matchmaking and mediocre product, and boxing ruled by boring fighters with mundane personalities like the Ward, Vlad's and Rigondeaux's of the world, while everyone with name value ducks the Golovkin's and Kovalev's.

    He didn't. The 1-2 he landed when Abell's butt was sagging into the middle rope doesn't count. Once he was actually down, Abell didn't get hit once as Rivas stepped clear to let the ref in.
