Bute was not robbed. He would have been lucky to get a draw. That being said, 117-111 seems not okay to me.
It's hard to tell. Is it age? The physical effects of the beating Froch put on him? Ring rust? He may think it's ring rust. We'll see.
Was Bute gun shy? I cant stand to watch him after the pascal fight, the guy looked like the biggest ***** in that fight.
You don't school your opponent when you run for 8 rounds. Degale knew he had not enough gas in the tank to continue like the first rounds and he did well with what he had left but that was surely not a schooling. At the end, he was missing a lot, his shots didn't anything in them, he was cut. He had a tough fight. His corner was pretty nervous during the fight and even after it. Plenty of people gave much more rounds to Bute. You cannot call that a schooling. Stop being delusional. A young Bute would have knocked Degale out yesterday.
Not like against Pascal, nowhere near that! He was not intimidated at all but he did not jump on some occasions he had. Degale froze a couple of times after body shots, and Bute did not jump on him. But he did well for a guy who had not boxed at that level for a long time.
Is it a fight worth watching? I'm a big degale fan, but I expected this fight to be boring with Bute not throwing any punches and just looking to survive. But so many people had it a robbery or close.
It was not a robbery but I had the fight 115-113 for Degale and not 117-111 like 2 judges. A lot of rounds were actually pretty close in my opinion. A draw would've been possible. Bute gave a good performance to be honest. His biggest flaw yesterday was that he didn't follow up when he had Degale stun, hurt or trapped in a corner which could've made a huge difference in the fight.
:good ill check it out then, after watching pascal/bute can you blame me for never wanting to see a bute fight again
yeah that was terrible last fight had lots of action IMO was impressed by bute's defense last night, actually degeale started strong but bute blocked pretty good and fought back strong taking over in the second half
