And yet we all still say Haye's performance against Wlad was pitiful. (it was)

So before we dive head first off the cliff of reality with comparisons to Ali and other nonsense we've seen on here following the fight, let's take a step back.

Klitschko threw less than half as many punches against Fury as he did against Haye. Some credit has to go to Fury for that, but the largest share of why this fight transpired how it did was simply Wlad's reluctance to throw punches.

Vlad didn't throw because Fury wasn't there.

Yeah because the only thing that matter was punches landed, you moron.

Fury did far better defensively than Haye did and it was that combination of his defence along with been better offensively than Wlad that won him the fight.

Boxing - The art of hitting and not getting hit.

Fury did that impeccably against a fighter renowned for both his impenetrable defense and his precise punching.

    Close the ****ing thread!!!!!!

    Chris Byrd isn't 6'9", Genius.

When a man that big, moves like he does AND stays behind that LONG jab, as Fury did, you're gonna have PROBLEMS. Especially when you fight like Grabbimir Klitschko...

If Wlad had thrown more punches, Fury would have thrown more punches.

Fury proved in the fight that he was determined to win.
Haye proved in his fight that he was determined only to survive.

Yes, but his reluctance to throw punches was due to Fury. His height/length/reach and movement meant that anytime Wlad got into range to throw, he was also within Fury's range. He didn't have that problem with Haye. Compound that with by adding the problem of him not being able to lean on and overpower Fury as he did with Haye means that he also got outworked inside.

So, in short, outside game stifled, inside game non-existent. Loss.

Wlad was reluctant to throw punches because Fury was beating him to the punch. Wlad got out jabbed by the Batman.

    The OP is idiotic.

    It's like saying :
    Argentina beat Germany 1-0
    Germany beat France 3-1

Therefore France did as well as Argentina. :nut

    Talk about a logical fallacy.

I didn't say Haye performed as well against Wlad as Fury did (although in an attacking sense, clearly he did) - I said Wlad performed worse against Fury than he did against Haye.

Some credit should go to Fury for the way he moved in the earlier rounds, but even when Fury slowed down, Klitschko wasn't throwing enough punches and deservedly lost as a result.

Would Haye have beat that version of Wlad last night?

I think determination played a big part in the performances of both men.

All the credit goes to Fury, he out played Wlad.

Is it that hard to understand that Wlad only throws punches when he knows he can hit and he couldn't hit Fury.

Shows you how quick Fury is when Wlad has a harder time hitting him than Haye...
