It was a dreadful fight. Once again another ppv fight featuring a German and British HW was a stinker.

    Styles make fights.
Two lanky heavyweights with good defensive games are going to make a boring fight.
I thought it was better from Fury than what Haye did against Valuev.
Yet almost everyone on this forum praised Haye for fighting a "disciplined" and "strategic" fight.

Fury won the fight pretty clearly. No one gave him a hope.

Fury was taking a huge step up, his first world title fight against a very dominant champion.
Considering those facts, his performance was impressive.

Agreed that Fury is not the most exciting to watching ring, but he does bring a great package that in my opinion is more exciting and enjoyable than Wlad. Got to say though it was his first world title fight against a great fighter, he is hardly going to go in there all guns blazing is he? He did what he had to do in order to win which I think is fair enough, congratulations to team Fury.

Does this fight have a knock on effect for Joshua v Whyte PPV buys?

Well if Fury can go 12 rounds taking just 9 punches from a ten year plus world heavyweight champion he's done ok

Fury had every reason to show Klitschko full respect and be cagey

Klitscko had no reason to do that

Both men averaged 11.5 punches per round BETWEEN THEM.

Calazghe-Hopkins was an awful fight too.

    Mayweather-Pacquiao was an awful fight.

Fury deserves a pass, because unlike all the others, this was his first title fight and he was a huge underdog.

Anyway, in the pub where I watched it, people were going nuts the whole 12 rounds.

The pub I was in saw most people switch off and ignore the fight completely.

He will have to take the rematch in Germany. There will be no interest for it here.

Fury threw 371 punches and landed 86,

Klitschko threw 231 and landed 52

So not sure where you got your average from?

    You must mean punches landed?

When Klitschko was winning fights easily he would throw 400 to 500 punches in the fight and land 200 (on average in 12 round fights)

Far more than double what he achieved last night

Vast majority of the punches he would throw in those fights were jabs. 8 out of 10 of his punches thrown were left jabs.

On average Wlad would land 5 times more jabs per round than the average heavyweight boxer in his normal fights

Clearly he couldn't get his jab to work v Fury and as a result he was literally half the fighter he would be against smaller guys

If he can't dominate you with his jab then that's his domination taken away
