In his defense Gamboa is better than any win on GGGs resume, wins over guys like Baltran & Burns are on par with GGGs best wins, moving up and facing top 10/15 contenders is greater than anything GGG has done and being Lineal at 135 is a better accomplishments than beating a journeyman IBF Champ and winning an interim WBA title and being promoted.

Yes! Finally! I thought nobody would consider Kovalev #1. He certainly is more deserving than GGG, and beats Ward on recent accomplishments because of Wards inactivity, and level of opposition. Rigo has not fought good opposition either since Donaire, and has not been the most active fighter. Mayweather is retired, Pacquiao is on his way out, you may put him there, but I don't think it would be accurate. Chocolatito is the only other fighter I see with a legit claim for the throne, but Kovalev gets it in my eyes.

Fury is an unproven fighter at the top level. A bit like some unseeded guy beating Roger Federer and calling himself the #1. No, you just got lucky and caught the man on an off day.

Its more like GGG beating Lara, which would be his best win

Gamboa is a featherweight Crawford is in reality a massive lightweight who was weight draining.

It's probebly more like Golovkin beating broner
