I suspect what may happen is that Sky will ask Hennessy if he wants Fury on Sky Sports, not Hearn. Mick then has to make the decision with Fury's team if the money is good enough for this to happen. Sky would want exclusivity on Fury. Fury is essentially a free agent at this stage. I'd like to see Fury's first defence on Channel 5 and then the Wlad rematch on Sky. Mick I doubt has the resources to promote Fury on his own. That said Channel 5 are owned by Viacom and have paid huge rights fees (£500k per episode) for certain US imports.
Mick is barely a promoter. He's kept around by Tyson out of loyalty. Where Tyson fights depends on the quality of his opponents and Sky's interest.
Surely Hearn will be loving the fact that the new Heavy Weight champ is a really beatable opponent! Maybe Joshua will be fast tracked to a title fight now!
Mick referred to Tyson in the post fight iFL interview as a PPV fighter. Just remains to be seen if he meant going forward or was just referring to that fight. Agree with a previous post that he'll have a voluntary defence on c5 with the Klit rematch being box office. Hopefully Hearn is kept well out the loop on this front.
I think it's sensible to sell the rematch to have a lesser fight on Channel 5. If the rematch is at Wembley then he'd have to work with Sky as the rights fee wouldn't be feasible for anything but Box Office. I think Mick is a sensible guy who knows that he will need help with Fury going foward.
So you don't think Hearn and Joshua will be licking their lips at the prospect of fighting a guy who got beat by John Mcdermott and put down by another journeyman? We're yet to see how Joshua will fair when he steps up but he has looked more impressive than Fury did coming up through the ranks.
This AJ bandwagon is sickening. Fury is the unified world champion, Joshua hasn't beaten anyone in the top 50. He hasn't even fought anyone who can punch back, Johnson was his best win and he was brought in as cannon fodder. He also has a very shaky chin, I think this is why Hearn has put him in with hand picked feather fisted opposition. Let's not compare the two shall we, at this point AJ is a nobody in the HW scene.
You might be right about Joshua (time will tell) but Tyson didn't exactly have a stella record pre Klitschko... I guess its harder to gradually step up at heavyweight as the division is so weak.
I think if Joshua gets the win vs Whyte which I think he will, he needs to fight Teper next for the Euro title. I think that will be a good indication of where AJ is at given how easily Teper dealt with Price. If he survives Teper's shots then his chin is better than expected. If he beats Teper I would say put him in with someone like a Tony Thompson, Malik Scott or Derrick Chisora.
