What would Lewis have done if he was in Wlad's shoes last night?

We did see an ageing Lewis pull it out the bag against Vitali. Regardless of your opinion on TKO6 he did at least throw punches with bad intentions and was making a fight of it.

And the Germans are saying the same thing about us regarding Wlad..get over it.

Again, he was 37. A 37 year old Wlad shut out Povetkin and just last year, bombed out Pulev.

But at 39, he had his first old looking performance against Jennings. A lot can change in a year, especially two.

And Lewis was also pretty passive in the Rahman fight, and worse he got knocked out cold. Far worse, than Wlads outing against Fury, who at least woke up and won the last two rounds,

I dunno...call me crazy....i think Lewis would have landed more than 4 punches per round. And would have made an effort to land with actual intent.

How..he was retired for two years at this point with like 30 fewer fights under his belt. A 37 year old Wlad would have probably landed more as well and knocked out Jennings,

He was three months shy of 38 and If Wlad had fought a fighter as good as Vitali aged 37 and three quarters he would have been in a similar boat IMO. He was just fortunate that he never ran into anyone anywhere near as good as his brother in the that extra couple of years.

Thus it's more than comparable. It looks like LL wanted it more than Wlad did in their last fights. I'd wager that Vitali wouldn't have so meekly surrendered a title in the same situation. Great athlete and boxer, yes but not a natural fighter and it showed last weekend.

How you or anyone else can defend this bs of a fight is beyond me. You're obviously not a boxing fan. When a fighter you like has a ****py performance man up and admit it instead of acting like a 12 year old.
Like l said before l don't mind a boxer losing,it happens, butt when you're twice as good as your opponent you shouldn't be hugging your way to victory.

And be my guest to **** all over Lewis for that first Rahman fight. Why he went up against the ropes with both hands held around his waist is a mystery to me. He deserved to get ktfo for being so stupid.

How? Seriously? By moving his fist towards his opponent. By having some personal pride and manning the F up and making an effort to win instead of accepting defeat. Two years off or not, can you honestly without bias believe Lennox goes out throwing 19 per round and landing 4 per round. What does jennings have to do with the Fury fight? What does less fights have to do with Lewis' character or ability? Not saying Lewis wins at that age and with the layoff....pretty sure there would have been more effort though. Opinions can vary.

And Wlad is 3 months shy of 39. Lewis long retired at this point.

Vitali did..against Byrd. Lewis did against Rahman. And they weren't a few months shy of 40.

Defend the fight? Like in what way? It stunk.

Yes, not a boxing fan. Good call...

I never said it wasn't a bad performance from Wlad, are you drunk? But I'm not going to pretend a fighter two years retired at the same age could do better because I'm insecure.

    Yeah, bad performance from Lewis.

Yeah..because Lewis had a worse performance than that when he was on only like what...34 or 35. He was throwing nothing, backing up from pawing jabs, and got put out cold.

If you want to imagine a 40 year old retired Lewis going out there and walking down Fury...thats your fantasy.

But the reality is Wlad is fighting into more advanced years in a longer, busier career, so comparisons are a bit silly.

Those shoes might not have been able to fit Lewis.

Lewis was exceptionally arrogant in the run up to and during the first Rahman fight. He got what he deserved. The point people are making is that Wlad meekly surrendered his title. Nobody is saying an old, shot to **** Lewis would somehow take out Fury easily. What people are suggesting is that he wouldn't trudge to a UD loss without looking like he's trying to win.

I don't think Vitali would either. What part of that are you finding so difficult to comprehend?
