...except clinching is a grey area in terms of legality in boxing. Flagrant headbutts like this are not, and they are dangerous and should lead to a ban and/or fines in all honesty.
To me the butt is worse than anything else you could point to as scummy of Wlad or unlikable about him or his style, combined. In that one moment he should've just lost every fan he ever had - and that's even if you dislike Fury. Just a complete and total loss of integrity.
He's a bully, bullies are not known to be mentally tough people. Under the facade of this "gentleman", we in fact have a highly egoistical ****er and I guarantee it, the whole nice guy thing - it's an act for the cameras or most likely an attempt to appease his ego even more by having people admire him from that perspective as well. He's a phoney really.
Very blatant headbutt. Wlad knew he was being beaten and tried everything he could to even things up, but failed Miserably. Funny thing is Tyson was ready for that headbutt (just as he was ready for everything Wlad brought that night), and slipped it perfectly.
When Ortiz did it, it was in retaliation right or wrong for Floyd's incessant use of flagrant elbows. This is different than in Waldo's case where he was ****ed off that he was flat out being beat to the punch in all respects and he let his frustration go. I think Waldo's case is a bit worse personally.
Rode it, to be precise - if he "slipped it" there would have been no contact. But yeah, nice reflexes there. :yep
OMG, you're seriously comparing the Mayweather vs. Ortiz KO (where Cortes had already motioned both men to continue fighting) with the Butler vs. Grant assault? (which occurred after the match was over) atschatschatschatsch That's a special brand of screwed up in the head, you are.
Eh.. No? I was comparing the reaosns behind the fouls of Ortiz and Wlad. Ortiz did it to retaliate being fouled upon. Wlad did it out of spite.
Ortiz did it for the same reason as Wlad, frustration. I'm not sure where people are getting that it was retaliatory. If he claimed that in any interviews afterwards it was pure spin and regurgitating it pure apologist nonsense.
...except that isn't what he did? Mayweather braced off to create separation using his forearms and elbows. Nearly every boxer does this at some point. Mayweather did it frequently because he was subjected to a higher degree of crowding-style pressure than most, since it was long believed this was part of the "blueprint" to beating him.
Wlad has always been almost as dirty as Ward. Remember the Povetkin fight which was painful to watch?
