potential fight of the year candidate .I am backing ortiz to win this on points or late stoppage ...Jennings movement will cause him headaches but Jennings makes mistakes and starts to plant his feet and take center ring ..that's where ortiz will take over ....Jennings can win this fight but he's got to keep on the move :')
Ortiz, is a big powerful bear of a man. He's getting up there in age (36). Cuban heavyweights blow hot and cold. But I still tale Ortiz by KO. Jennings inexperience and lack of power hurts him in this fight.
I think the fight will go the distance and Ortiz's stamina may not hold up after 7-8. I lean towards Jennings by late TKO.
That's what's great about this fight - I have no idea, it's 50/50 for me. Jennings is more than solid, he was able to school Szpilka (but it's hard to say whether this is any kind of achievement), but against Perez he didn't look that convincing (and Perez soon after that was destroyed by Pov). He seemed OK with Wlad, but after his loss to Fury that performance seems somewhat less impressive. Ortiz is a strong puncher, but he never faced someone who had a clue about defence. He was on roids when he demolished CW Kayode, he did the same with that guy from Argentina. Luis is still untested and fighting Jennings will be the greatest challenge of his pro career so far. So if I was to make a prediction, I would go slightly for Jennings. In his big fights to this date each time he was able to adapt, plus his ring IQ seems more than average in HW division. And did I mention his spectacular stamina? This may be the key factor lator on. But still, as much as I enjoy watching his defence, his chin is not that spectacular, as he was down in Tupou fight. I have no doubts that if Ortiz hits him with his best punches, he will knock him out. But will he be able to deliver them? I'm not so sure.
Jennings by SD or late KO, Jennings chin will hold up, Ortiz has been facing scrubs up until now, he may very well get exposed and KO'd late.
Agreed. Jennings is one of the hardest workers at heavyweight when it comes to his conditioning/training and mental game. Kind of like a bigger Tim Bradley, guy is intense. Ortiz is lazy in everything from the quality of his opposition to his conditioning. Cookie cutter cuban heavyweight, turned pro too late to accomplish much of anything, regardless of anabolics abuse and soft touches (Ancient Monte Barret is your best win...
Don't really care about these two guts anymore . There just a pair of contenders that the furious one would completely destroy with ease
