Looking back I honestly think Wladimir was trying to get DQ'd, it was so blatant. Wladimir was frustrated, losing large, felt embarrassed, didn't like what was going on had a panic and looked for a way out.
Wladimir has had some of the most insightful and downright classy postfight interviews that you will ever see from a boxer over the course of his career. This was a moment of sheer desperation and frustration expressed inside the ring; one that shows he clearly did not want to lose. He was in the heat of the moment and well behind late in a fight, which is completely new territory for him. If only he had thrown more meaningful punches instead of launching a savage headbutt... :-(
Oh, yawn, so the guy lost control and tried to headbutt a dude for the first time in his career? Past champions like Holyfield, Tyson, Bowe and so forth used to pull out the dirty tricks bag practically every single fight. Really, you can complain about his holding and that he's often boring, but otherwise he's been a complete gentleman. Try again.
Yes but it's easy to be a complete gentleman when you're winning and everything is going your way. It is how you act when things are going against you that speaks volumes about your character.
Please say that Ward's intentional BUTTS were even worse vs Kessler since they were't even from frustration of being clinched, but were lunges from center ring and actually won him the fight.:rofl:rofl:rofl
While Klitschko's butt was pretty flagrant, and worthy of a deduction, he didn't do it on a continuous basis, and that's what differentiates this foul from Ortiz's. In that case, Ortiz was doing his best billy-goat impression from the second round onward. Plus, Fury rabbit punched with some frequency; and that's unsportsmanlike in its own right.
I wonder if IB thought Mayweather should have been dq'd in the Judah fight for his corner storming the ring. After all, he's such a stickler for the rules right.
Oh please, Fury deserved that and more for that elbow in the face in ring assault on Steve Cunningham. F*** him
Wow, didn't catch that. I think a lot of it instinctual. When someone is under distress and pressure they'll instinctually resort to stuff like this. Think of it as being chased by a monster, and you start tripping the people around you, without a second thought or hesitation, it's instincts to survive (or win), by any means.
