What would Lewis have done if he was in Wlad's shoes last night?

Maybe. Didn't see much digging deep when he fought supposedly an injured Pac.

Don't recall him having to dig too depend when he fought Hatton.

But you can't just cherry pick a fight or two, look at his body of work and ask yourself where and when was the risk taken to KO a fighter who had to the potential to KO him.

What's your observation, that Lewis was retired at 40 and therefore never would have done any better than Wlad did or do you have a different viewpoint? I think Lewis showed tons of heart and guts to be hurt in the 2d round against Vitali and turn it into a brawl and come back and win.

Could he have done that against Fury at forty? Don't know, but I suspect he would have at least tried.

Way to rob the term of all its meaning.

If Lewis getting out boxed for a round and getting put out by a counter is now a great bravery in the face of adversity.

It has nothing to do with Lewis, it has to do with boxing. And by my definition, if it helps your Lewis hating agenda, I don't think he went out on his shield against Rahman.

All any fighter can do is there best, and if they are honestly trying to win and come up short, especially if they are risking getting KO by taking chances to land their own KO punch, then to me that's that definition of going out on your shield. How long the fight lasts isn't all that material. Hearns also went out on his shield against Hagler, I would have come to the same conclusion if the fight ended in the 1st round and I would have come to the same conclusion if Hearns had won and Hagler had lost. Then to me Hagler would have went out on his shield.

Is this too difficult for you to grasp?

Winning comfortably? His legs were like a newborn fawn on an ice rink 30 secs into round 2. He lasted all of 210 secs vs McCall. If he'd taken one more he'd have been comfortable in hospital for a fortnight.

Jesus, there's a few Einstein's on this site I see.

No one's talking about what happened after the final punch landed.

I will admit it's been about 20 years since I last saw the fight, but I had thought he won the first round and was winning the fight until that punch by McCall landed... but I could be mistaken, I'll watch it again later today. But that really only changes the "winning comfortably" equation of what was said. The real point is, he lost while trying to throw a punch.

The first round was even, no way was Lewis bossing McCall. He was a pretty crude fighter pre Steward, sloppy with his punches and open to right hand counters to anybody with a bit of pop and speed and McCall had that.

He would have laced them up tighter because of his smaller feet.

You are the definition of a fanboy. You've successfully refuted nothing and are making a fool of yourself.

You seem to think I'm a Lewis fan and Wlad hater. Much like nearly everything else you've said in this thread you're wrong.

I don't remember Lewis being undisputed champ at wlads age so how can he rank higher? Lewis would get beaten like a hooker if they both fought each other at 40

Nobody know for sure how something like that would play out, but I would take the Lewis who beat Vitali over the Wlad who fought Fury any day of the week, as would about 75-80 % of the posters on this thread.

No other boxer would have done any different, the thing is at 39 and based on his last two fights Wlad is probably a shot fighter. A shot fighter will fight like that just look at Mosley.

Lewis was a couple years younger when he fought vitaly and looked like **** in that fight could hardly get off his stool. Had that fight gone longer I don't think he would see the end of the fight.

I agree he seemed to struggle in his previous fight
