    It wasn't a bad night.

He simply wouldn't commit to anything, because he was scared of getting countered.

I agree 100% that the early versions of Wlad who were stopped would have beaten Fury. Because those versions of him were aggressive with a lot more variation.

All credit to Tyson, but he's not a great fighter.

Wlad lost on Saturday because of a lack of will.

Vitali must have been going crazy.

Vitali would have laughed at Fury's power and walked him down.

If Wlad had Vitali's chin and his confidence, he'd be just about unstoppable.

People don't realise how much psychology plays in the outcome of a fight. Which is why I laugh at all of the people who believe that Wlad would easily have beaten Ali.

I agree with the first part of your post. But has he got the mental strength to come back and be much more aggressive?

    I don't know.

I can see it from two angles:

    1. He has nothing to lose and everything to gain. And I imagine that Vitali will be with him as much as possible.

    2. Tyson did a psyche job on him. If he didn't have the mindset to defeat Tyson before they'd fought, will he have it now Tyson's beaten him? In the months building upto the fight, Tyson will repeatedly look him in the eye and tell him that he knows he can't beat him.

It's going to be very interesting.

I also did not understand that what happens to Wlad. As Fury said before the game "We’re heading for a new year, a new era and a new heavyweight champion.”
I disagree with that statement before and after the game because everyone has its own choice of following champions. Its not about era or year etc.

I have quite a strong personal opinion on this:

Wlad is, and always, ****. An 11 year winning streak in this era of HW boxing doesn't really count for an awful lot when almost everyone you fight is overweight & unconditioned. Not only that, but everyone he's fought has been in his hometown of Germany, his own handpicked gloves, his own mattress canvas etc...

All Wlad ever wants to do is jab, hold, push. The second he stepped in there with someone of greater physiological stats who had half a clue how to exercise them, his game plan went out the window. From round 1, anyone could see he was absolutely terrified to let his hands go for fear of eating something back. All Tyson had to do was dance backwards and throw the odd job - fight won.

Any half decent 80's/90's HW would have put either Wlad or Tyson away with ease that night (or any night for that matter).

When Carl Froch lost convincingly to Andre Ward, he wasn't "exposed" because he lost to the best fighter in the world. Similarly, whenever anyone lost to any genuine top 10 p4p fighter, you absolutely cannot say they were "exposed." Wlad absolutely was exposed that night and I for 1 am happy it finally happened.

Wlad has never wanted to take a punch

He couldn't figure Furys weird movement

    He's 39

    In that order

Funny thing is nobody is saying he got old overnight, they are seeing he's been old and Jennings was also a bad performance,

Come on Loudon , that's ridiculous . Its impossible for a man of Furys size to have zero power. Not even Ali had zero power.

You're not going to be hitting with KO power while boxing on the move like Fury was.
All of Wlads output went into stopping Fury from landing flush shots. He was timing Fury not to land his own , but to bring up his arms to take the power off Furys punches. Then he smotherd Fury non stop to prevent him landing anything clean on the inside
Fury never dropped a flush right hand bomb on Wlads chin. If he did , it would have been lights out for him.
The hooks that Fury was throwing on the move almost had him out of there before Weeks stepped him and saved him ffs.

Vitali wouldn't walk through the punches from the lightest HW hitter of all time in Chris Byrd.
He was ran all around the ring from the light hitting Chisora.
He kept his distance from pillow fisted Kingpin for 12 rounds.
Fury wouldn't find it difficult to pepper right hands off Vitali's head. The only body parts he moved were his arms and legs.
I can't see why you would think he'd just walk down Fury.

The only reason he had a bad performance against Jennings is because the Ref was constantly on his back refusing to allow him hold.
He knows he can't box 3 mins a round and thats why he went into a shell.

He had a terrible performance during his best years against Sultan. Was he old then too?

Too much movement from Fury caused Wlad to hesitate nearly the entire fight. What he should have been doing is jabbing the body more to try and open up other opportunities. Wlad only did it 4 times in the fight.

Fury confused him with movement at range. Wlad thought he will tire out (so did I) so he just kept waiting, and waiting and waiting. Until it was too late.

That wasn't terrible, he was fast and sharp.

His opponent was a short southpaw who kept ducking under his knees, and refused to engage.

Not really comparable to the sluggish 39 year old Wlad at all. But hey, cool you think Wlad is superman who isn't effected by age and injuries.

Yeah, that's how I saw it. Wlad couldn't catch him so he conserved his energy and hoped he could catch him late. It was the typical old man vs mover performance.

It actually reminded me a lot of the first Holyfield vs Lewis fight.
