Fury vs Vitali : resume

Read my other posts. It doesn't fundamentally alter anything I said. If he beats Wlad again, that puts him closer to Vitali, but still way back (quite easy to say, I think mostly unfairly, that Wlad was just shot for both fights).

If Fury beats Wlad again, beats the WBC belt holder, and beats, say, Anthony Joshua, then you've at least got enough of a body of work to make a credible argument. IMO, he needs to do all those things and much more, but at least its not patently absurd on its face, like it is right now (or after he beats Wlad again, if he does).

 

Its a meaningful part of a fighters body of work.

PS. watch the fight again. Vitali was already recovering when Corrie grabbed him and tripped him. MMA takedown's don't count as kd's in boxing.

 

Pathetic. That's like me talking about Tyson and saying "so beating a few washed up guys who'd already lost a bunch during the drugged out late 80's really equals beating Wlad twice?". Weasel words that completely ignore the great body of work a heavyweight does really aren't very persuasive to your argument.

By your (faulty) logic, Sanders should be much better than Byrd. After all, he beat Wlad.

I should make a thread saying how Buster Douglas has a better resume than Muhammad Ali. After all, Mike Tyson was prime, at his peak, and a better ATG than anyone Ali ever beat.
