Do you think "running" should be disqualifiable?

Nop, I'm not trying to make it easier for one type of fighter over another, I'm trying to make it easier for fighters to fight and harder for runners to run (I can't call them fighters).

The adjustable ring size had nothing to do with this thread, some guy said different divisions should have different ring sizes (to be proportional in size as the fighters) and I agreed with the basic premise. I didn't say whether that ring was going to be small or not or it needs to be adjusted down if the guy doesn't fight. It was a totally different, irrelevent issue, nothing to do with the topic at hand.

And here we go again with the same ****, this is seriously pathetic now:

"You're trying to prevent the guy from running around the ring evading the fight with the other guy, you must think that boxers should be shoved in a box to trade with each other HO HO HO, go watch BKB!! I'm so smart!"

    Why this exaggeration?

The reason I didn't give more examples is because nothing comes to my head but people know what I'm talking about (other than tryhards such as yourself), I gave a few to illustrate my point.

There's thousands of fights if you want to look them up, your idea that boxers get punished by losing the fight if they do this? Well guess what, so do the fans? Fans have to sit through 30 minute of that **** and this drives them away from the sport.

If you told the fighter "hey man, you gotta try harder because this is unacceptable", we'd probably get a better, more entertaining fight from him than him doing a runjob for the full fight.

They dont but it shows other sports police inactivity or clock wasting

Boxing its tough because guys who are accused of running can still out land their opponents

Boxing commissions would have to clearly define it which I dont think is so easy

Maybe Oscar later in the fight vs Trinidad or Lara in stretches vs Alvarez

Again it will be tough to define and always controversial

Dont the queensbury rules lay out just how big a ring should be?

If every ring was the same size like a basketball court or football field then at least we can see things fairly

when guys negotiate a bigger ring to run around or a smaller ring to impose a size or style advantage to me that is kind of cheating

Yeah, but nobody calls them out for getting that advantage to favour their style. That's cool with them.

I'd love if Lara fought Golovkin in a big ring and managed to do just that (run around), then ALL the arguments about how all you need to do is learn how to "cut off the ring" would be finished if the best guy at it couldn't prevent it.

I kind of think things like gloves and ring size should be standard

too much bs involved in negotiating or day of the fight protesting

i also dislike how guys like floyd and manny really negotiated in so many advantages. i know they didnt invent it and it has occurred in boxing forever but those 2 did it constantly on a huge stage. there was always an angle in their fights and canelo and cotto started doing it as well

boxing doesnt need fighters to become entitled

Erislandy Lara got penalized for running by losing the fight to Canelo. I sincerely believe he did enough to win the fight, but his running was disgraceful. He deserved to lose.

And imagine if the ref told Lara to fight more, he'd probably won that fight and it'd have been more entertaining for the fans. Instead we had to watch an utterly disgraceful performance and there's actually people STILL saying he should have won that. What a joke.

Has nothing to do with your interest, it has a lot to do with your lack of knowledge and stupidity though.

    I didn't mention BKB.

But who are these other "runners" you are talking about? Who are the runners that are ruining the sport? Who needs to be told to "try harder"?

Rigo, Mayweather? If not them, then who? Your own examples.... Lara, Thurman?

Again, if you fail to offer any examples, even 1, reasonable example, how do you expect anyone to see your points? You didn't illustrate your point, you shat on it.

The last guy I remember running, literally running away, was Amir Khan vs Lamont Peterson, and that was only for stretches of the fight..... and even then, Khan was trying to win.

You have a preference, and you want that preference to be rewarded over others. That is called an agenda. What's worse is that you are denying it, saying that it is the "not boxers", it's "runners", and the examples are thousands of fights, none of which come to mind.

    Sound argument.

Is throwing personal insults at people you can't beat in an argument all you can do? Sorry but it's beneath me and I won't be drawn in.

The fact that you had to resort to this though means you've lost.
