yea it's funny when you see that wlad can't land one combinations on tyson fury, actually he couldn't land anything, and vitali also is a big stiff 1-2 boxer with no upperbody moving and body punching, and guys here say that they would beat bowe??? bowe smashed gonzales with his telephone pole jab, worked the body, countered, he put his punches together inside and outside and people here saying he would get beat by 1-2 stiff boxers who can't fight on the inside, don't know how to throw body punches and press the other boxer?
Coetzer didn't fold and Bowe turned dirty while everyone looked the other way because Bowe's victory and road to the title was a fait accompli. And Coetzer was a beanpole, underweight, featherfisted guy without hand or footspeed, a guy who the adjective "ponderous" was most often applied. He was cast as a pushover in this drama and refused to follow script.
Taking chances strategically and displaying aggressiveness is a positive thing, especially with titan heavyweights. But turning off your brain, throwing your natural strengths and good strategy out the window ie sacrificing your height........ just to feel the adrenaline and falling in love with mixing it up is not a plan for consistent success especially in the land of Heavyweight power. Meldrick Taylor had the same sickness in his career, it didn't serve as an advantage for either fighter for long term success and career triumphs, even if it did display a good show
Whats this script you speak of? Coetzer folded up like paper when Bowe took it to his body. Was Holyfied and Donald given this script as well? I don't remember Bowe fighting dirty when they put up resistance. When did he turn to fouls when it was going wrong for him against Golota? Never , despite having 10 fights worth of fouls inflicted on him.
If thats not heart what Bowe produced against Golota , then I don't know what is. He never stopped pushing and his unbreakable will shattered his harbinger's mental state.
The inside work Bowe put on Gonzales was as good as you will ever see. Vitali would have no answer for that.
So would you if you'd been punched in the nuts 100 times. Bowe was lucky not to be DQ'd. Golota was a bit of karmic justice.
Fixed LA TIMES... LAS VEGAS It was the night of the uppercut and the lowercut Saturday at the Grand Ballroom of the Mirage. Rid**** Bowe inflicted serious damage with both to stop Pierre Coetzer in the seventh round and ensure a Nov. 13 match with heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield. Bowe could not knock down Coetzer with any punches above the waist...
I believe Prime/Peak Bowe beats every great superheavy with the exception of 70s Foreman like 40-0 Foreman. A Biggs from the Tyson fight might have outboxed Bowe to a decision, I think Bowe would take punishment but beat Liston. Bowe had a great jab but also got outboxed for stretches however his will in the ring was incredible. Golota 2 should have been stopped but say what you will Eddie Cotton gave Bowe the benefit of the doubt for better or worse. But Bowe was out on his feet for rounds and made Golota cave. Anyway a focused Bowe boxes, moves, applies pressure and KOs or decisions pretty much any great Superheavy. I believe Foreman would beat him in a war. Foreman was simply too powerful and relentless. Bowe had a mean streak in the ring, just a real tough fight for anyone.
Gonzales was a scrub, a non-entity. That's like praising Bowe for beating down a Michael Dokes who was exhaling cracksmoke and donut sprinkes when he entered the ring.
Fixed it for ya. Bowe is not only an overrated fighter who dodged the big challenges and just about browned his shorts when he had to fight Lewis ... but he was a supreme dirty fighter. If there was a belt for that sort of thing he'd be in with a shot at being world champion. He also fought dirty against Golota, repeatedly rabbit punching him and also going low on an occasion. His acting skills were in evidence when one of Golota's shots bounced off his leg, and you can actually see the moment when the lightbulb goes off in his head and he pretended it was full-on in the pills. A prime Wlad would have destroyed his jab and punished him unmercifully. Vitali would have played all night with Bowe's big swings, and Bowe would have looked like a plateful of Rocky Road by the end of it. As to what Lewis would have done to Bowe ... let's just say it was a good idea to drop that belt in the trash instead of facing Lennox. :dead I also think that Povetkin, who isn't a super heavy, would have lumped Bowe up with his combination punching. Bowe might beat Tyson Fury. YDKSAB.
i thought you don't like bowe, but anyway glad to see you give him some props. yea, i don't see how the klits could beat bowe, he could match them on the outside, and inside is no contest. he also has a better chin, more heart, great variety of punches, body punching, countering etc.
atsch Yes Bowe is overrated but the guy beat ****ing Holyfield. Shouldn't you give him some props for that?
