Wlad will not avenge that loss, I think. He'll beat plenty of contenders, but he wasn't in the fight last time and he isn't getting any younger.

Most fighters would prefer not to be hit by smaller gloves. Say bag mitts. Who wants to be hit with bag mitts?

Are you saying a fighter would prefer less padding in his gloves? Or are you saying less padding makes no difference?

This is not what Billy Colins found against Luis Resto.

The Nevada Athletic Commission did a five-year study on injuries in boxing and concluded that the amount of padding used in boxing gloves is directly correlated to the injury rate in boxing. The study warned that more padding in gloves meant punches were easier to absorb, which means a fighter could be hit more times.

I think you will find a skilled technician stands more chance (be he big or small) to connect with more clean punches than glancing blows. Also you must accept that a man with a faster output in general could potentially land more punches on a slower foe.

Sometimes a smaller man could be both faster and a better technician. he could in some cases potentially land more often, land first with a cleaner connection than a slower bigger man.

However, until you get your head around the idea that bigger gloves cause more glancing blows and that a big man with the upper hand will still get the job done even if he only EVER lands glancing blows on a smaller victim (because of his obvious size advantage) then there is nothing more to say.

Again, i really think they need to bring back even rounds. That's how I score now. So many fights now with negative rounds and people just choosing who danced around more or missed the most jabs, or maybe scored a body punch in the closing seconds.

I still had it a clear win for Fury.

    Van,

The word dubious means hesitating or doubting, which I think described Wlad that night.

I think the scoring was fair, and Fury deserved to win it, even though he really did not do much, and sometimes fought dirty.

I score rounds even, especially if there's limited action in the earlier rounds.

Dude, Wlad lost. He needs to go away. Nothing left to prove, nothing left to prove it with...

Wlad fought dirtier than Fury. Turning his back, holding, headbutting.
Weeks did a very poor job.

Er, no - haven't said anything even vaguely approaching that. It seems extremely bizarre that you are asking me that. Can you link the Nevada Athletic Commission study though? That sounds interesting.

Yes, and sometimes a boxer wears red gloves.

choklab, these are total platitudes - when you are posting something like this just ask yourself: is this statement known by everyone in the world to be fact? If the answer is "yes", don't post it.

Smaller men can be faster, slower, more powerful, less powerful, better technically, worse technically, they can be anything - anything in the world except bigger.

Finding out how these difference intercede with gloves is the key to finding answers. Basically you have spent pages and pages now at the beginning of the very same argument you were at your first post.

"Get my head around it"? I haven't just got my head around this platitude, i've explained to you what you need to do to take that argument on the road:

Naturally, this post calls for work and engaging with some difficult ideas, so you ignored it.

I dunno that he could have improved it really, sometimes in a sloppy ****ty fight like that you just have to let them get on with it.

Mendoza, what did you think of Wlad's deliberate charging headbutt?

Did Fury commit any fouls as cynically deliberate and dirty as this one?

Fury landed several rabbit punches and was deducted a point because of it. :deal

Wlad was also cut due to a clash of heads.

Wlad rarely fouls, and if there was a score card for foul blows landed, Fury wins by a wide margin.:deal

I see someone uploaded Wlad's retaliation, but conveniently left out all of Fury's fouls. This type of unbalanced reporting is the stuff you eat up and convert to your own version of the facts more often than not. :D

If someone were to upload Fury's multiple fouls, you'd see....because I'm thinking you missed them all during the fight.

I think it was a retaliation for Fury's initial and multiple rabbit punches landed by Fury, which might have hurt Wlad or made him gun shy.

An earlier clash of heads left Wlad cut under the eye. You won't find many cleaner champions in the division history than Wlad.

There are no Fury fouls to upload. If there was , you can bet your azz they would be online.

Wlad cut his own face by lunging in on Fury and pining his head against Furys gloves and shoulders.

This is the punch game. Not the clinch game. Wlad should have been deducted numerous points for excessive , needless clinching and mauling.

Fury was deducted and Wlad wasn't because Weeks was in Wlads pocket. Anybody who isn't you knows that.

Wlad rabbit punched Fury just as many times. This is a fact.

If Wlad wasn't d****d all over him , there would have been no rabbit punching. Wlad was directly responsible for every foul in that fight.
