Irivine beat O'Donohue. McComb also won a SD over Bates setting up a final against DOJ. What mouth watering fight that'll be!!!
I don't know the official scores from Germany as my stream cut off at the end but Dennis Hogan was outclassed by Jack Culcay unfortunately. He couldn't find his range in first 5 rounds and the German picked him off with a few lovely counters. Hogan was winning 6th but then got hurt by a big right hook. Done better in the second half of the fight but despite Dennis being busier Culcay landed the better, more eye-catching punches. I think Dennis spent to much time trying to figure Culca out and the fight was over before he knew it. I had it 118-110.
Wasn't too impressed with Culcay either. Looks ok in spurts but doesn't throw enough punches. Looks like a poor man sven Ottke.
Yeah, he's the type of boxer who only does the bare minimum to win rounds. He won't be troubling any of the top boxers in the division.
Great night at the stadium,Irvine casey and o reilly very impressive, McComb/Bates and Kelly/Moylette brilliant close fights,(right men won my opinion) Good to see two lads that won the inters coming through into the finals in Wallace(75)and stokes(69) Can't see O'Reilly(91) or carthy upsetting things next week but decent number twos non the less,
Yeah, I thought Irvine was magnificent in controlling distance-and O'Donoghue-easily my fighter of the night. Casey hit hard and while I gave McComb the nod too, he'll need to step up a lot on that for DOJ,having said that, styles make fights. Moylette deserved the win, he boxed very well for two rounds but needs to stop getting too involved in toe-to-toe. Fair play to Kelly, he gave it a good shot. O'Reilly took a bit of time to work Joyce out, but he really went to town on him in the second half of the fight-another class act. Hard to believe just a few hundred people in the Stadium to see such quality, the IABA, for all their good work, need to seriously revamp their PR side. I was disappointed in Wallace, lacked nonexplosive, in fact I had Byrne close, I gave him the first. Delaney had it easy as Allen just couldn't throw his ****ed right-hand but the only sour note for me on a good nights boxing was the decision for O'Reilly over Afanasev. For me Kiril landed more, did cleaner work, and controlled the ring.
