bad stoppage he was probably gonna go down, get back up, and go down again shortly after then it gets waved off and it's fine gotta let this stuff run it's natural course. There is also the possibility that he survives it Jacobs punches himself out and Quillin comes back to win it's happened more than a few times in boxing.

I picked jacobs(go check the v cash bets, I placed a bet only on jacobs), I've also said I hated Quillin loads fo times for ducking korobov, there are tons of people that will back me up on that. Thought it was an awful stoppage.

The ref had an excellent look at Quillin. He wasn't even planning on stopping it until he looked directly at Quillin. He was done.

Bull. All that proves is this ref shouldn't be used for future fights, he panicked at the first drama in the fight

Dock's biggest mistake wasn't the actual stoppage though, it was acting like it was a KD without it being a KD. If he hadn't pushed Jacobs away and acted like it was a KD, Jacobs would have been in a position to finish the completely dazed Quillin (the one with huge eyes) and there would be zero issue or controversy.

Waving Jacobs away was Dock's mistake, and I feel like Dock factored that and ended the fight to try and "make up" for it - which was the wrong move and just compounded one error with another. Quillin was coming back to his senses and Jacobs was in the far corner of the ring, Quillin could have defended himself by the time Jacobs got back to him.

Dock should have just accepted his mistake, and let Jacobs try and finish it if he could instead of making it worse by compounding it with another mistake.

Well **lysed, further illustrating the point this ref has a temperment unfit for championship fight

Funny thing is, if Quillin goes down, he more than likely doesn't get stopped there. I think the reason Dock stopped it is because Quillin was a sitting duck.

I wouldn't call it a good or bad stoppage. It was an acceptable stoppage. Fans want to see somebody get knocked the **** out. Quillen was glassy eyed, and his legs were jello. Jacobs has power. Choosing between Quillen's head landing in the 5th row, or waving it off, the ref made the right choice.
