Such a shame Pirog got injured. He destroyed Jacobs and after last night Jacob's stock has gone up ten fold in the MW division. Jacobs destroyed a top MW in Quillin, a guy who almost blasted World Champ Andy Lee in the same time frame, who's a top MW. Pirog would be the best MW in Boxing today had he not gotten injured.

Lets not forget that Pirog struggled with Ishida.

It was a competitive fight but Pirog won easily. The win was never in doubt.

Debatable. Had the GGG - Pirog fight happened we'd know for sure. Woulda been a great fight, such a shame.

if if's and buts were candy and nuts...every day would be Christmas...

Pirog's legacy at this time, is that he came over to America as an unknown; and beat a guy who was suffering from cancer, then got injured and retired.

    That's it.

People are looking back with rose tinted glasses.

Jacobs was winning the fight on all cards and got caught with a big punch.

    Jacobs wasn't "destroyed" by anyone.

Also, there's the slight issue of Jacobs quite possibly suffering from cancer at the time

What? Pirog was clearly winning the fight. It was a perfect performance by him. Look at the fight again buddy. Don't take the word of Boxrec's stats for it. Scorecards given were a disgrace.

From what I know he hadnt really fought anyone before Koing Jacob in 5. After that he was set to fight GGG but had a back injury in training and retired

    Lmao, no he wasn't

Pirog was clowning Jacobs the same whole night, dropped him in the second which wasn't counted, and basically dodged everything Jacobs threw and hit Jacobs at will. That was NOT a close fight, and the disgraceful crew (minus Manny who was very impartial and called it right) were cheerleading Jacobs the same whole night.

The only punch of note from Jacobs was a nut shot, and that was seconds before Pirog sparked him out
