Good lord, either 3 things are going to happen- 1. Holm beats the prime out of Ronda. 2. The judges cheat Holm on the cards for a trilogy fight. 3. Dana pays Holly a "healthy" sum of money to lose the fight. Pimp on Dana White, pimp on.:hat
Fight will be huge. Rousey wins and the UFC and Rogan can start overhyping her again. She loses the UFC makes a ton of money off the rematch so it's worth it for them.
They should make it in the summer. Rousey needs a good 6 months, pre fight to work solely on boxing and wrestling. She can still win but she needs to think about her game before the UFC think about their business.
I think the holes in her stand up aren't going to be corrected in 6 months, if ever. She'll have to focus much more on getting Holm's down and keeping her down. But if it's another stand up fight, she can train for as long as she wants and she's still not going to win that type of match against Holm.
I don't think you can blame one guy for the hype, overall he was somewhat measured given her performances.
Probably this. Rousey needs to revert back to a ground based game and avoid trying to strike with Holly. Seems to me Ronda was fed a bunch of fairy tales about how elite her striking was and she believed them.
An immediate rematch is pointless right now - All this will do is holdup the rest of the division. Tate vs Holm makes more sense right now. Then IF Ronda comes back, Give her the rematch.
He still thinks Rousey's the strongest fighter mentally he's ever worked with, and remains in denial about her broken jaw.
dont get your hopes up , she might not come back after the demolition job put on her last time , that was not just a loss , it was a serious beatdown !!
I think Rousey could beat Holm easily in a rematch if she focused on her bread and butter. The way she fought in the first fight was bizarre. She had no respect at all for Holm's striking, it's as if she was trying to prove how good her striking had come along.
There has to be a balance between her career stopping and her making improvements. That is restricted with an immediate rematch. 6-12 months dedicated training will make an improvement. Her boxing won't be as good as Holm's but she can improve her boxing enough to transition the fight into Judo and wrestling. The fight starts standing and at distance. If Rousey closes that distance without taking too much punishment, she's in her element.
I just think given to throw someone you have to have your hips in which means the head is up meaning Rousey has to get close to Holm to throw her and thus her head is there to be hit Holms foot work is too good to let Rousey get close enough to put in a throw clinic. Sure she got her on the ground once but Holm got right out To me its apparent Holm is a better fighter and a better athlete than anyone Rousey ever faced and stylistically has more to the table than Rousey Sure Rousey may get her on the ground and submit her in a rematch but i think shes better off seeing if Holm loses in a defense vs someone else and then tries to beat the new champ, given that happens. I just think Holm has her number
