I'm going to be very honest with you. I really, truly, sincerely, from the bottom of my heart.... do not care about the imaginary "lineal" title. I really don't... and I wish that I could express this in a way that everyone could understand.

You're right! It was all a mirage. He really didn't beat all of those top contenders as he unified and held all of those titles. In reality, the only title that mattered was the WBC! I wish that I had known this all along, that way I could have realized that Vitali, I mean, Rahman... I mean, Maskaev... wait, I mean.. Peter! Hold on, I was right the first time, I meant Vitali! Well, actually Stiverne, and now Wilder! Yeah, Wilder is the true champ of the world! He has been for a long time. I mean, he beat Stiverne for the love of god, of course he's the true champ. Stiverne was a long standing champ when many great defenses.... or maybe he just won the vacant title against Arreola... who cares anymore, right? As long as it isn't Wlad? As a matter of fact, nobody has been a real champ or the best in the division since 2003! That makes it better! Wilder also beat Charlie Z, so, that's another big win for him. Wait, was Charlie ranked #2 by ring after his fight with Mayweather Sr?

So it's settled. We can call Wilder the lineal champ. I'm really proud of him, and I hope that he carries that imaginary title with honor and courage. Like those that came before him... or those who didn't. Just imagine if he were able to unify the WBC regular, with the WBC international, the interm, the WBC Silver, and the WBC interm silver titles! Wouldn't that make him a WBC Diamond Champ too? It's all so legit, and so fun for us fans to follow all of those great, prestigious titles.

If only it were as simple as watching the sport, and realizing who the best was by the way he rose to the top and defeated the other top contenders, you know? Nevermind... that's crazy talk.
