could Triple G surpass Floyd

Well right now, he's about where Floyd was in 2000/2001.

So he has quite the uphill battle. If he can beat a half dozen HOF'ers, climb some divisions, win several lineal titles, and continue with unwavering dominance for another decade+, then he might have a chance.

Age will stop GGG. I predict he's already slightly past prime. Look at the way he put away Ishida with one shot. Or Lajuan Simon in the first round with one shot right on his back. Milton Nunez already destroyed in 1st round. This was 5 years ago when GGG was 28, in his physical prime. I think he's going to have a tougher time putting away opponents as he gets older while the opposition gets better.

 

GGG should join Al Haymon and fight all his fighters.Move up to 168, fight Dirrell, Degale and Badou Jack. Then retire with his millions, as a 2 weight division champ.

Let's say I'm the next 8 years he beats Lee and Canelo, racks up 15-20 defences.

That puts him in Hagler territory and most rank Hagler above Floyd.

Realistically? No way. He can potentially dominate long enough at 160-168 to become an ATG, but he just doesn't have the names to surpass Mayweather's resume, Mayweather's peak ability, or the ability to rise through the weights like Mayweather did.

if he went to 168 and unified 2 belts

TBH I see GGG getting stopped at some point. Probably in 2 years he gets into it with a banger, gets cracked, and gets stopped Quillin style.

 

It depend on who do you ask. I´m afraid he wont have time to make it. At the best scenario, GGG is 40-0 by the end of 2017 and he is 36 years old. Of course he can continue but he will be past his best and facing naturally bigger fighters at 168. He will probably loose before he decides to retire because he will take the challenge.
