I know Ward hasn't fought at 160 in a decade, but lets pretend Jacobs gets some more great wins and emerges victorious vs GGG (relax fanboys just hypothetical).... And Ward is willing to agree to a catchweight of 165.... this is a huge megafight to be in 2017 or so. Battle of p4p

Two boxer punches with elite pedigree.. salivating at the boxing skills that would be showcased in this fight...

    Who wins??

Man i would pay alot to see this fight

Ward, Pirog showed that Jacobs has a hard time getting much going against really slick guys. Ward wouldn't hurt Jacobs, but he would bother him and do just enough in 8 rounds to get a decision.

Jacobs can punch, and has quick hands so theres always that X-factor but its more likely that Ward lands 1-2 more significant looking shots in more rounds.

Ward would KO Jacobs, too big too strong and most importantly too fast.

Jacobs is a pretty big MW, he could do 168 (which is what im imagining the fight at) with little issue.

Ward might be strong but he isn't much of a puncher, and would be too afraid of Jacobs power to commit to anything. He might score a KD on an odd angled shot, but I don't see him stopping him.

I think Jacobs chin is just weak enough that Ward could take him out, like you said Ward isn't a huge puncher but neither are Pirog and Mora, if Ward can stagger Edwin Rodriguez on a few occasions I think he has just enough pop to stop Danny.

OK. Firstly I want to know, does Andre Ward actually want to fight anyone? Actually, has there been any news whatsoever about a potential next opponent?

When was the last time he fought, June?

The enigma that is Andre Ward...

We know that he has intentions of fighting Kovalev and maybe putting on 3 fights in 2016, but it needs to actually happen.

Why would the fight be at 160? Jacobs is cutting fifteen to twenty pounds to get down there. He's easily as big as Ward, possibly a little bigger.

Remember that doc of Danny Jacobs killing himself to get down to 160? That and the average height of middleweights is 5'10". Average height of a light heavyweight is 6', same as Ward and Jacobs. Jacobs actually has 2 inches of reach on Ward.

start 5:50 to get to the part about him having trouble making weight.

You shouldn't have to do that to fight in your natural weight class. If there were same day weigh ins Jacobs would never make 160.

    160 contenders
    Golovkin 5'10.5", 70"
    Lemieux 5'9.5", 70"
    Quillin 5'11", 71.5"
    Eubank Jr 5'11"
    Geale 5'10", 71"
    Monroe Jr 5'10, 74"
    Saunders 5'11"
    N'Jikam 5'11"

    175 contenders
    Kovalev 6', 72.5"
    Stevenson 5'11", 77"
    Ward 6', 71"
    Fonfara 6'2.5", 77"
    Braehmer 5'11.5", 71.5"
    Beterbiev 5'11.5, 73"
    Pascal 5'10.5", 72"
    Chavez Jr 6'1", 73"
