this one is a good match, spoon could win a decision based on only being the most aggresive man in the ring, still young being in shape, would make him look stupid. i cant pick, good fight

Probably one of the more interesting fantasy matches I've seen on here in a while.. Two guys who were both awkward as hell to fight, but in two very different ways.. Both men were durable and capable of going the long haul.. Young was fast and elusive while Tim had good defense, body work and power.. Being the aggressor didn't always guarantee a win against Jimmy. In fact, he liked for his opponents to chase him. Not sure how Spoon approaches this one. Maybe force Young to the ropes and try to unload to the head and body. I like tim, but my thinking is that he drops a close decision here. Of course Holmes, Page and Tubbs were all pretty good boxers and couldn't keep Spoon at bay. In fact I think he deserved the decision in all three of those bouts.. But Young was a boxer of a different species.

Jimmy Young is one of the more overrated and misunderstood fighters.

When you hear the word great defensive fighter, you think fast, but Young was not that fast! He had great head movement and fought defensively.

Jimmy Young gets a lot of mileage for making an older Ali look bad, outpointing Ron Lyle, and defeating a gassed Geroge Foreman.

Essentially he was a slower handed slugger's worst nightmare.

Those who had good hand speed in Dokes, Page and Tubbs beat Young.

Witherspoon had good speed, activity and ability. A good boxer, he's simply too busy and would land the harder blows.

Young will always be misunderstood and underrated, I'm convinced. I don't mind if in these hypothetical matches that some will pick Young to lose,....but it drives me crazy when they pick him to get blown out,...as in this case, in 3 rounds by Tim Witherspoon....
Tim Witherspoon would never be able to knockout Young,...in 1, 3,...7, 8,...12, no matter...no way. Argue that Tim would have decisioned Young, and I don't think he would,...but a knockout??? No way.

Tim knocked out Frank Bruno an actual titlist. He'd destroy journeyman young.

There's more chance of Spoon turning up fat and getting blown away Bonecrusher style than of him KO'ing Young.

Terrible Tim wasn't that fast, but was a good puncher with an awkward type style. That being said, it wouldn't be enough to detour Jimmy from winning a close unanimous decision.

Two of the most underrated HWs young at his best very tough to beat a nightmare .spoon at his best very dangerous guy hard hitting good defences quick for a big bloke .think spoon might just do it on points but could go the other way.

Tim was unfortunate and harshly treated by some judges plus he wasn't motivated for the crusher rematch.

He wouldn't be motivated for Young either because he'd go in expecting to score a KO in three rounds.
