    He did look awesome against McCrory. Nobody thought it would be mostly downhill from there.

    That's the thing about those early blowouts: They often exaggerate the class difference between two fighters and can be a bit misleading (i.e. Nunn-Kalambay; Hagler-Hearns; maybe Tyson-Spinks)

    I think on of the things with Curry is that he made hard stuff look easy. He looked like butter in there; smooth but never trying that hard.
    He had the seeds of greatness no doubt at all. BUT maybe not the durability.

    Curry's biggest problem is he had something like 330 amateur fights. 300 something amateur fights does not make for a long professional peak period.

    And his chin wasn't the best, which was found out after the Honeyghan fight.

    My favorite fighter of the 80's a truly great 147 fighter.

    Absolutely hammers anyone today at that weight.

    A beautiful fighter to watch in his prime. It wasn't a long prime, and I think a number of factors led to his rather quick descent. But I really think the 1984-1985 Curry is really under valued today.

    He was so fluid and compact in his punching.

    another year...another snub by the IBOF

    Camacho and Zapata finally made it in, but no Curry.
