    Time's up!

Has Canelo agreed to fight Golovkin within the 15 days deadline set by the WBC for the Canelo/Cotto winner?

It's suspiciously quiet on the WBC front... :blood

They released a statement last Thursday that they have another 11 days, and that the two promoters were having discussions.

The new deadline is in 4 days, haha. Last update we heard said they are negotiating. It's extremely quiet on both ends- dead silent- and that is usually a good sign...you'd think Canelo would have given up the belt by now if he didn't have any intention to fight GGG next.

....maybe we get some sort of Christmas announcement?:D

I can see them agreeing to give Canelo one defense in May and than a fight by September. That way Nelo can take a fight at the agreed catch weight of 157. I think that Canelo has too much pride to just throw the belt. We gonna see.

Canelo is following Cotto's blueprint. He is never going to fight at 160.

WTF Canelo has a belt at the 160 pound class

He should either fight with Golovkin at 160 or give up the belt.

Last I read Sanchez was talking about 158. So maybe they are willing to concede a couple of pounds in order to make the fight. But I suspect that they will not concede so much that it physically affects GGG in any way ... which is the whole aim of the 155 stipulation, of course.

You're 100% correct. Sorry Barcham, but I think it'll be held at 157/158. Sanchez said they'd fight at 158 for Canelo.

158 is the most. Any more is too much.

GGG will be fine at 157-158. In fact to be absolutely honest I think that the catch weight is more of a problem for Canelo. He is the one that is severely draining and might actually look better at the full 160 weight.

I will be ****ed if this fight will be at catchweight. Take the belt by force, let Canelo fight at 155 while he can still make it and wait for him to eventually, pound by pound, inch his way towards the guys he should be fighting. Fatboy comes into the ring at 174, he won't be able to make 155 for long.
