Yeah I don't get it.... That Whyte boy doesn't have a chance.

 

I've been a big joshua fan since the amateurs, but this hype surrounding him and the way eddie hearn is milking it is really starting to **** me off,
The amount of people that don't watch boxing are talking about him and what he's gonna do to people, you mention names like povetkin and they don't know if you're talking about a boxer or a footballer.

 

Saying he is a level above Whyte isn't quite the same as tipping over Povetkin though?

I think so. You were saying the bandwagon is getting carried away but I don't think assuming he'll easily deal with DW falls under that.

 

Rewind to the early noughties, and you can draw similar comparisons with Harrisons career/achievements.

Both Olympic Gold medalists.

Both well known to casuals and general public.

Both given way more credit than they deserve imo.

Harrison for me had/has way more ability than Joshua, but he lacked the heart and mental toughness to succeed at the top level.

I think Joshua and Whyte are doing their best to build the fight, and are obviously succeeding judging by some comments. I'm sure there is some genuine needle between the two, but the media pantomime is making it look far worse.

The only thing i find remotely interesting about the fight, is the history between the two, on paper it just looks like Joshua is being fed another bum.

It wasn't so much aimed at a certain fighter. Just the general hype around him. I understand there is gonna be hype with 14 wins 14ko's and he's British. It's just annoying when people come out the woodwork and instantly become boxing experts. Joshua has brought alot of them out

 

I agree completely. Hearn is a brilliant salesman.

 

Dillian Whyte is very much a natural fighter. He loves to mix it up. AJ seems a bit manufactured. Methodical, technical. If Whyte starts throwing everything at him again, AJ might get overwhelmed.

 

Well to be fair I'm a Yank and therefore have none of the nationalistic inclination to be deluded about him, and in fact I used to be quite sour on Joshua as I thought he was quite lucky in the Olympics in 2012.

...having said that, AJ has won me over in the pros and passed the 'eye test'.

 

Correct. Sooner rather than later Joshua will get exposed making the people who gullibly fell for the hype look foolish.



What a farce it is making this card a PPV. MisMatch Room strike again!

 

I'm not buying the ppv. Aside from it not being a credible ppv, it's too soon after the last one in Germany.

Whyte has at least knocked out blokes in impressive fashion. He bashed Minto with his right even though he had injured his left shoulder and couldn't jab or use his best punch the left hook.

Obviously the 2 years out have stalled his career a bit but he's got a great trainer and he looks to be in career best shape.
