Hope they do bin the title at a press conference like Peter promised. Joke of a title match between Glazkov and Martin.

Yeah it is a joke. A well don't see why fury would be to bothered. He's still the true champion of the division. And he has less sanctioning fees to pay ha. But a fight with wilder for all the belts would of been nice.

It's what was bound to happen sooner or later.
Although I didn't expect to happen that soon after Klitschko lost the titles.
We're entering a new era where the belts will be shattered all over the place and ducking the best fighters gets as easy as in the lower weightclasses.

Glazkov vs Martin is competitive but not a world title fight (An eliminator maybe).
It's a pity now that Wlad is gone, the titles will shatter.

Really what is the point in having belts anymore, beyond a joke!

Almost at the point where it is more credible to tell your grand kids that you won the Lonsdale rather than a World Champion belt

How come they stripped Fury? I know the official reason was because Fury wouldn't announce that he would fight his IBF mandatory right away, but what does the IBF gain by stripping Fury?

I'll be honest, whilst i watch every card i can get my hands on, i stopped paying attention to who the champions are and how the different organisations work a long time ago as it is pretty meaningless nowadays. As ant-man said, it's about the fights.

Does the IBF lose out if Fury doesn't fight their mandatory and if so, how? How do the sanctioning fees work? If Fury owned all the belts and he fought the WBAs mandatory, but all of the belts were on the line, would all the organisations be able to charge sanctioning fees or just the WBA?

Sorry for the, what appears on face value, rookie question, but whilst i follow the sport religiously i really dont care anymore about the belts.

I have far more respect for the Lonsdale belt than any other. It's not perfect, but its rankings and ordering of competitive matches outstrips any of the world governing bodies.

Too many belts and not enough pants to hold them up.

Tyson should take a stand and try and get a petition to make ONE belt that stands for being the unified champion.

Too many belts are killing the sport.

Can somebody tell me, if you are the undisputed champion of the World with ALL the belts, how can you possibly appease them all by fighting the mandatory challengers, do they just take it in turn ?

    Yeah pretty much

But usually one of the bodies tries to enforce a fight for its belt as the IBF have done - so they get sanctioning fees - its a joke really

Glaz looks pretty pedestrian from what I have seen if he wins he wont hold it long. Povetkin, Wilder maybe even Haye if he has something left will come looking for him quick. Don't know much about the other guy

so they are playing a very dangerous game in that if nobody cares abut their belt it will be the end of them, but I guess that will never happen as there will always be a boxer who wants to be able to say he was world champion. If nobody really cares about watching it though I guess they make no money and go out of business anyway.
