Sanity is just prevailing by a couple of of votes. Gonzalez would be fine. Even Floyd would be acceptable, but WTF has GGG done to be FOTY??

Most people do not consider him the best fighter in the world, and if fan-friendly fights are what counts, then Arturo Gatti should have been the FOTY several times. What counts is achievement.

Besides, it doesn't matter as Tyson didn't emphasise Athleticism as much, it was the type of fight that Wladmir likes, and and Tyson beat Wladmir at his own game. That's why it's far bigger for legacy than both past prime Sosa and past prime Viloria combined - who although game, that type of fight will affect a past prime fighter more.

Not F'erOTY criteria. You need to have DONE the most (though qualifying what counts as the most is where it becomes subjective, as we're seeing)

I think his implication was that you are pointedly omitting the epic win over ATG Porter. :think

I'd go with Bandido Vargas, who was underdog, FOTY, Comeback of the Year, Ko of the Year, and it was a championship fight. But since it's not up there, I gotta pick 2nd coming of Sugar Niko, Tyson Fury. He was also an underdog without much of a chance, but extraordinarily beat Wlad at his own game. Gonzalez, GGG, wasn't an underdog, much less Mayweather. Fury did his best Ali imitation and stunned the world, too bad he doesn't have that sneaky power Ali had to lay some hurt. In Fury's case, he slayed the giant, or more like the giant slayed the sweet prince!

Well he can't give credit to that victory because he'd have to give Porter, an american, some credit for being a good fighter.
