Glad I'm not the only one hearing it at work!

I was in butlins minehead a couple weeks ago for the darts and they showed the Fury fight, 1600 people crammed into one room, heard a couple of blokes behind me when this Saturdays card got advertised say "I've never seen that Whyte fight but I reckon Joshua will smash him" I literally have no idea how you can come up with that opinion if you openly admit to never seeing one of them fight

After Fury had one I heard one bloke say "Joshua will beat him easily next and win all the titles"

As someone has already said I don't debate with them anymore just nod my head and move on

Think this would be a decent fight. Doubt Paulie has the power to hurt Coyle much. How would Coyle cope fighting almost a stone heavier than normal though?

Coyle literally tweeted 1 minute ago "back to square one, absolutely gutted" so I would imagine there's no chance of it Saturday

2 days... No opponent. Wonder which corpse they'll drag to the ring? Some EE journeyman? One of the very busy Brazilians? Arias?????

I went to the last O2 Joshua fight

Loads of casuals there as well

Loads of girls on nights out

Before Joshua fight they turned the lights out and played pop anthems for about 20 minutes and it was like being in a nightclub on a Saturday night with the whole place singing and dancing

Maybe it's always like this at O2 boxing?

But it's not like a normal boxing show any more - its more like a night out

Which I believe Hearn has said he wants it to be, he had an interview once about not being able to do boxing on a Sunday night because he wants it to feel like a proper night out

Surely that is a really good thing?! Two Heavyweights who are at best exciting prospects are creating stirs amongst 'Casual Fans'. It shows you how strong the sport is at the moment.

It's a good thing that people are watching the sport but what it does is make ppv a really easy sale for Hearn, a british title fight shouldn't headline a ppv no matter how "good for the sport" it is

Of course it is good for the sport. PPV's that work boost fighters pay, that is a good thing.

With the IBF farce over Fury, it is further and current evidence that titles mean very little in the sport. It is the fighters that make the title, and as you suggest Joshua and Whyte have caught the imagination of the 'casual fan'.

Yes PPV's boost fighters pay, however its at the fans expense. Fans don't mind doing this when the fighters involved have worked up to an elite level, however in this case its just a payday for two blokes who have beaten a load of journeymen

Ppv pays the boxer well but what does it do for a fan? That's the point in all this, there are some fights that just have to be ppv I accept that, mayweather vs pac for example obviously for the fight to be made had to be ppv, in fact even the rule brittania card back in may I could accept had to be ppv, he got 2 world champs to travel to England to defend there titles, I get they had to be paid somehow but having a ppv simply because casuals are stupid enough to buy Into the Joshua gravy train doesn't make it a good thing
