Bowe would have battered him. Bowe could fight for 12 hard rounds.

They are similar fighters in many ways. Both SHW's with inside and outside ability. Both tough and resourceful. Fury's just appears better in probably every way. We'll know more as his career progresses.

For a start, Bowe had far more power. Bowe also had a far better chin - Bowe was never put on the floor by ****ty fighters.

Bowe was also a far better in-fighter. Infighting was Bowe's forte.

Bowe was also trained by perhaps the greatest trainer who ever lived.

Faster, much bigger, better jab. Resourcefulness, chin, and power appear about equal right now, I suspect they are stronger for Fury, but again, time will tell.

Right now, their resume's aren't too far off. Wlad is a bigger win than Evander, but Bowe beat Evander 2 (arguably 3) times. But outside of that, Hide or Donald were probably Bowe's best wins, not counting his dq "wins" against Golata. Chisora is right around the Hide or Donald level.

If Fury beats Wlad in the rematch, and then beats Wilder or Povetkin, Fury's resume goes way past Bowes, and he'll have more definitively answered the remaining questions I have about him.

If you think their power and chin is equal then there's nothing to talk about really. Based on empirical evidence they aren't even close.

Chin and power are unclear right now. Sure, Bowe was never put on the canvass by fighters like Pajkic and Cunningham, but they are very comparable to Ali's Banks and Cooper, and Ali wound up having a great chin.

Bowe never faced remotely as hard a hitter as Wlad. In fact, he never really faced a true top notch hitter at all, except maybe Golata, who put him down and rocked him repeatedly. Power wise, I'd need to doublecheck to be sure, but am fairly confident Fury's ko rate is above Bowe's right now.

Again, the jury is still out on power and chin for Fury.

The question was not "who has the better resume", but rather, "who would win?".

    Bowe all day, for me.

Can't see any way the Fury I saw against Wlad could beat a young Bowe circa Holyfield I. Maybe an old fat Bowe, but the young Bowe was a wrecking machine

Fury beats Bowe by carefully using his size advantage to frustrate Bowe.

This. Bowe's infighting skills would give Fury a lot of trouble.

Not sure this would work. Bowe, whilst a great in fighter, can also fight at range. He is no Lewis, but he is certainly capable.

Fury's tactics worked against Wlad who wouldn't let his hands go againat a moving target. Bowe isn't like this, though.

To say Bowe was much better than Fury would be an understatement.

    Levels.
