Lewis could fight cautious, but Liston may outjab him. Lewis might be better off blitzing Sonny. Lewis was too big and powerful.
While I agree, He's not the greatest head to head fighter and had a glass chin, it wasn't exactly Patterson level glass. Not every fight would be a challenge to him. That's absurd.
I think it's a tough fight for both men, but when I remember Bruno out jabbing Lewis, and Ray Mercer giving Lennox real problems, I have to give the edge to Liston.
Im a big fan of the bear but he'd get hammered against lewis, i dont agree that liston has the edge in power. If lewis got pumping his jab in which he didnt do enough in his prime, hed even win that battle liston has the better chin and thats it. Lewis in 7 or sooner.
Lewis isn't out jabbing Liston. Liston's punching power is on a completely different level than Lewis. You're either lying about liking Liston or you're just obsessed with Lewis as these posts are clearly biased.
Liston's punching power isn't on a different level than Lewis at all. Watch the Grant fight, the Vitali fight, the Ruddock fight, the Rahman fight, and then tell me Liston's power is on another level than Lewis without coming across as a total hater. But Liston did have the more powerful jab, (faster, is debatable) but power punching, no.
Do you think it's just me saying that? If you do re-read the thread. Watch his fights. Of course Lewis is up there with the Tyson's, Foreman's and Liston's of the sport. He's certainly on that list. Seriously do you even watch the guy fight? He drops 220+ men with single punches. Look at the punch he nailed Rahman with, it maybe the single best punch thrown in ages.
Never could Lewis punch as hard as Mike Tyson, Frank Bruno fought both of them and Bruno on many occasions has said Tyson was the hardest puncher he ever fought, Lewis overwelmed Golota in one round, Tyson broke Golota's jaw in the opening round... Mike Tyson was one of the great powers of heavyweight history, Lewis wasn't.
Whatever. At the end of the day, Lewis knocked out Bruno, Golota, and Tyson himself, so deal with it.
