He lost vs vargas and rances. Yet he gets another shot vs omar jr.

Shouldnt omar be fighting a bigger threat then this

DeMarco is now the best journeyman in boxing. His record of "Big Name" guys that he has fought is outstanding.

Fought Edwin Valero and went toe to toe with him until the stoppage.
    Beat Jorge Linares.
    TKOed John Molina Jr.
    Fought Adrien Broner.
Jesse Vargas , Rances Barthelemy, and now Omar Figueroa.

Excellent resume, high level journeyman can live a good life under Haymon. He has a sick sister and that Haymon money is worth sticking around for a while.

No one's ever really beaten DeMarco by staying in the pocket and banging with him. They tend to refuse him by tight defense and a movement. Even Valero didn't stand there and trade punches in a phonebooth with him.

This could be an interesting fight...

Didn't Broner beat him by basically staying in the pocket?

Demarco was lucky to get past Linares.

He won on cuts, late, after losing almost every round.

I quite like Demarco. He has a tougher back story than most and I don't really begrudge him any opportunity. Good luck to him.

He won by stoppage and it was well deserved. Linares had his nose shattered.

Did Demarco really break his nose? I forget. I watched the fight live and remember it as a stoppage due to a nasty cut.

I'll take your word for it.

Nice come from behind win over a quality boxer then.

As I said, I don't begrudge him. I quite like the guy.

Yeah, Jorge couldn't take no more and took a knee if i remember correctly.
DeMarco was a pure warrior. I used to be a big fan , he's just too timid these days.

I think there's a difference between a phone booth give and take war (Castillo/Corrales) and a master counter puncher whom utilizes a shoulder roll defense.

I think the ref stepped in when Linares was taking too much punishment.

Linares looked superb early, but Demarco ate everything, came on late and wore him down. Very good fight.

If i remember right, Linares had an odd habit of turning his head to the side to eveade a punch, but done it even when tagged.

DeMarco is no journeyman. He is a gatekeeper at world title level.

Yah, I think "journeyman" might get overused in this forum a bit.

Honestly believe DeMarco is going to have a lot more success here than people are currently thinking. Omar isn't hard to find, look at what the unbelievably crude Estrada. His skin isn't the greatest either.

He also seems to have an issue, you know, using lateral movement to avoid shots. He didn't have to fight Ricky Burns on the inside all night but he chose too anyway. Demarco's uppercuts and inside game is great.

Yeah, he had a hard time pulling the trigger against Rances... Who's a constantly mobile target. He has to set himself to punch and Rances completely neutralized him. Don't think he's going to have to be chasing Omar.

DeMarco strikes me as a fighter who is old before his time, but if he has anything left he takes this in a war.

    I agree.

It seems here that you are either elite or a journeyman.
