Why did Lennox take step-aside money to avoid Tyson?

Tyson's still on the idiot's tour, selling whatever he has left of his fake image to retarted cretins in need of a gangsta hero.

He's still worth some millions; his "fearless warrior" bull image still needs to be protected.

Same as with Michael Jackson, who reportedly made more $$ dead than alive these last few years.

Go onto most internet forums trying to explain the guy shared his genitalia with 8 year olds, and you'll feel sorry faster than you can blink an eye.

You know when contracts are signed there is some expectation, foolish or otherwise, that they will be honored. Otherwise one could also argue that even if he had taken the fight, it never would have materialized because King and/or Tyson would have found away around that too.

Absolute Bull Feces!! Lennox & Mike were both with Cus D'Mato as kids. After two sparring sessions Lennox was handling Mike quite comfortably Lennox always had Mike's number,
Wouldn't you take $4mil to step aside with the promise you'd DEFINATELY be next in line? But as usual King didnt keep his word. It was an open secret everyone was doing all they could to try & stop Lennox Lewis getting the title But cream always rises to the top . Lennox Lewis was the best HW champ since Ali

This is correct! Pre-prison Tyson would've beat Lewis as Lennox was not a complete fighter at that time. He was still improving.

People made the assumption that Tyson was the same Tyson when he got out of prison. Most folks didn't realize he was maybe 70% at most from what he was before prison.

Lewis didn't want any of that until everyone saw Mike wasn't returning to his former glory.
Bruno was beat by himself before the fight started, like many of Mike's opponents.

You got it upside down, ****.

The courts didn't have the power to physically drag Tyson into the ring.

When the court decision brought by Lewis went against Tyson, Mike only had 3 choices.
. defend the title against Lewis
. vacate the title, pay a fine and resume the bum tour
    . quit boxing altogether

Tyson's knees grew weak, and he accepted to bear Lennox's children.

After that, the only way Lennox could have fought Tyson was to chase after him on the streets.

But since Tyson was and still is a box off hit, the spin machine went into full throttle, and they concocted this fairytale of exclusive contract by Lewis, ignoring the 45 million offer by his promoter.

And years later, we're still here reading forum threads by idiots like you and others attempting to spin the truth.

Lewis chased Mike through the courts as soon as Mike rewon the title vs Bruno .

Doesn't sound like someone trying to duck, if you're asking me.

Lennox took only 1 million to duck Byrd AND dump his belt. He wanted no part of southpaws

A mandatory has the right to make it's own offer to the champion, provided there's more money on the line.

Lewis made a counter offer to Tyson where both stood to make more money and with no King strings attached ( King was famous for locking fighters into unacceptable clauses), and Tyson balked.

Lewis went to court, and the court sided with him.

Rather than earning more money and facing Lewis, Tyson chose to vacate and pay a fine.

Lewis took the 4 millions because the courts forced Tyson to give it to him, with the assurance to fight for the vacant title.

It's Tyson who walked away from his WBC title. :good

so..... lewis ducked byrd and sanders.

by some coincidence two of the guys who crushed the K bros.

    smell kliturd much?

of course, BEFORE they beat the K bros, there weren't any kliturd queueing up like they are postKbrosdestriction to claim that lewis ducked them.

It's crazy how holyfield was a 26-1 underdog.

People really thought that was a cherry pick fight?

There is a lot of revisionist bullshine spouted about the 90s by young fans who were not watching boxing back then and only learn in hindsight.

The only way you can know what was going on back then is if you lived through it.

Before Tyson fought Holyfield he was the most feared boxer on the planet. The muppet elsewhere on this thread (Prince?) who said that Lennox Lewis would have been considered to be better than Tyson back then is deluded. Few people thought Lewis stood any chance at all. I was a Lewis fan back then, and the thought of Lennox taking Tyson on was both terrifying and exciting.

Some people thought Holyfield might literally get killed by Tyson. It was a massive shock when Holyfield won that fight.

That's post-prison Tyson for one, and second, the quickest way to stall but look like your doing something is to go through a judicial system.
Lewis wanted none of the Pre-prison Mike.
