Is Ward still fighting Brand?

I know this will unfortunately turn into a Ward/ GGG insult fest, but I'm actually wondering if Brand is still the next opponent.

It is odd to me that Ward (who said he needed one week of rest to heal his knee) after well over a month has still not indicated when he will fight next. Let me clear up that I think it is AWESOME that he wants to move up and fight Kov, although I wouldn't fault him for fighting Degale either to be honest.

But if he is to fight a new opponent and give them at least 2 months notice, then Ward isn't likely fighting until late March or April. If he fights Brand, it could happen sooner. In my opinion, it would make the most sense for Andre to fight ONCE before fighting Kovalev and take on a top opponent. A Brand or whoever those other guys were he tried to fight don't do much more to prepare Ward for Kovalev than good sparring partners would. I also see no sense in someone who is considered to be a top fighter needing 3 tune up fights (2 of which will likely have been against "never was/never will be" types) other than a cash grab which is what I believe this is.

I would rather see him fight Degale at 168 as a warmup, than have him drag up a SMW no-hoper to 175 and destroy him.

Brand found a good late replacement for Ward, 16-0 Bekhtemirov, and got a SD win last Saturday.

There's no way Ward fight Kovalev, not as long as there are still people name Smith out there ready to be taken

Would be nice to hear something in regards to Ward's next move before the end of the year. I suspect we'll have another shambles of a build up to his next fight if rushed or a delayed return to the ring.

Ward has shown a total lack of urgency regarding his faltering career. I don't expect to hear anything soon regarding his next fight. He'll likely do nothing for months, it seems to be his usual approach. I wouldn't expect a return any earlier than March based upon his previous behaviour and even a spring fight maybe optimistic.

But wait...all the Ward haters were up in arms a month ago about Ward fighting a "bum" like Brand.
How the fight was a "joke"

Is Brand no longer a joke because he beat Bektimirov?

So another win for Ward, right?

Ward has more great unofficial wins than Mayweather at this point.

    Bute
    Hopkins
    Calzaghe
    Kessler 2 in Denmark
    Froch 2 in England
    Murray
    Degale
    And now...
    Brand

Why bother ever getting in the ring again, if you can continue to grab wins this great.

He's the current undisputed king of the negotiating table. These fools can't get Andre in the ring, let alone hit him in the ring. That's the best kind of win there is- a true Flawless Victory.

    So which is it?
Is Brand still a bum like many on this site said?
Or is this a case of Ward "ducking"?

Oh and btw "Froch 2 in England"??:lol::lol::lol::lol:

As if Froch ever really wanted that fight. Give me a break.

Brand at 168 is an acceptable stay busy fight given the right circumstances- fighting 3-4 times a year, for example.

At 175, it's pointless. If he wanted to acclimate to light heavyweight, fight a natural light heavyweight version of Brand.

ward is in that no win position with these fruitcakes

he fights tuneups and hes a loser fighting tuneups(even though their god fights tuneup one after another)....he doesn't fight at all hes "retired and never fights"

brand is not someone who is a priority to reschedule

when ward signs to fight kova you will all cry and urinate in your pants

I remember how most of you were "Floyd will never fight shane mosley hes afraid"...then after "shanes soooo old"......"Floyd is scared to lose to manny"...then the excuses even started flying before that one....cause you guys knew what was coming...they came before and after that one

this will be more of the same.....just let it play out....I guess till then you can run your collective mouth for a year or so

Brand is a **** opponent at SMW or MW, he fought Paul Smith who was already a below par opponent, what's the point of these repeat tune ups? How many do you need?
