Lewis won the case and Tyson had to pay Lewis $4 million dollars where he would then defend his WBC title against Lennox in his next fight. Well Tyson fought Seldon without the WBC title on the line, and then Tyson dropped the WBC title altogether to fight Holyfield, where Lennox had to fight McCall for the Vacant title. I don't know how anyone could say it was Lennox that was ducking, unless you haven't been following boxing for that long.

I don't recall anyone ducking him. People got interested in him when he fought on Cedric Kushner's Heavyweight Explosion cards early on against guys like Bert Cooper. Then Sanders got starched by Nate Tubbs. Interest grew again when he beat guys like Czyz, but then Rahman knocked him out when Sanders stepped up. He had more of a "Just Another Alex Garcia" vibe to him than anything else. I think Garcia rose all the way up to number-three in the WBC and Bowe was considering defending against him at one point. Before Garcia got exposed. That's why the Sanders win over Wlad was so shocking. Sanders ended up being much better than Alex Garcia. But nobody was shaking in their boots over the prospect of fighting him after Nate Tubbs destroyed him. Sanders wasn't rattling off a bunch of spectacular wins or anything.
