K2/GBP agree to voluntary defense for Canelo

    Also...who does Canelo fight? And at what weight class?

    His options are very limited assuming GBP arent dealing with Haymon.

    That rules out essentially everyone else at 154, and a good chunk of the 160lbs division too, when you take into consideration the guys hes already beaten

    :lol: Yeah. Some of his fans really wanna see him as a god, not a human-being. The fact that he can make mistakes and have flows like every other fighter in the history feels harsh to them.

    Let's say WBC was going to enforce a strippage. What is the best option knowing that Canelo WON'T fight him next.

    Keep in mind, Golovkin has said multitudes of times that he wants his big fight and all the belts.

    Option A: Forces strippage: Gets the belt but not Canelo (maybe never)

    Option B: Accepts voluntary: Gets the belt and Canelo in Sept

    I think skipping the fight in May is kind of a bad idea tho because i think there's a good chance they'll be competing with May/Pac 2 in Sept.

    MMA is just as bad if not worse than boxing! UFC propaganda just makes you think all the best fighters are there! It wasnt true 4 years ago (look at how many strikeforce guys are champs lawler, cormier, Werdum and tomorrow could be Rockhold) and its not true now. People used to act like strikeforce was childs league and now its dominating. Add the Fedor saga and you get the drift.

    Ggg is losing fans left, right and center. The guy is 33yo, man up and fight someone we can say is a challenge.

    True. If he was a boxing god, he would have fought Ward at 168. Not sayin he ducked him...but he didn't chase him either.

    This whole thing is a disaster, Cotto wiped his feet with ggg and still hasn't paid him. Now canelo is doing the same.

    I expected 1 of 2 things happen: canelo gets stripped or fights ggg, neither happened. Its a huge disappointment, k2 got taken to the cleaners.

    its funny to see some of these guys who staunchly defended ggg , through and through, say the same things about him in this thread that ive been saying for at least a year now

    Sept at the earliest, I should've add. Like I said, I need to read the official statement regarding everything- but as Steve Kim said- K2 is working to get GBP binded for September... whatever that means.
