Who cares.. Just another guy Ward didn't and won't fight. After years of excuses, Froch certainly gave up the ghost, another great unofficial win for Ward.
Excuses eh? "People talk about [Gennady] Golovkin. Hes not PPV. They talk about Andre Ward, I dont want to fight Andre Ward. He will probably beat me on points. -Carl Froch http://www.dailystar.co.uk/boxing/419114/Carl-Froch-retire-Las-Vegas-fight-Julio-Cesar-Chavez-Jr Froch never wanted that rematch, as he knew he'd lose
He don't want it now. He wanted Chavez jr and retirement. Once upon a time he wanted Ward 2. Just like I said. Again, another unofficial great win for Ward.
He never wanted it. Never. Hearn had been using the "Ward brings no money" line going back about 4 years. Also, in case you forgot, Ward has an official win over Froch
You've got to realize that the concept of time changing the circumstances of an offer or situation doesn't register with Ward fans. It can't. That's why it's easy to lock themselves into thinking things are exactly the same as Andre's 2009-2012 glory days and that Andre is somehow owed something from that, great accomplishment though it was. The idea that boxing popularity, offers, and situations are fluid and always evolving doesn't compute.
What Ward fans don't like is this myth that Froch ever wanted to avenge his loss. If it was a matter of not enough money, then say that, don't pretend that Froch went out of his way to make a fight, when Hearn and Froch spent the last 5 years saying they weren't interested in fighting Ward because. 1.Ward didn't bring enough money. 2.Froch openly stating that he didn't think he could beat Ward
Not true, Froch spent a year chasing Ward. In 2012, Froch stated his dream and goal was to rematch Ward in England. Of course several years passed with Ward unavailable, than we had the he s not worth it talk from Hearn.
Hearn stated Ward was a stadium fight in 2012 and He and Froch wanted it. We also know Hearn was trying to negotiate the fight. That was 3 years ago....when Ward was still a ppv fighter with a belt and a name, a lot changed.
